Ahead of its debut which is likely near the end of this year, Kia Clavis has been spotted yet again undergoing tests in South Korea. While its still camouflaged, we now know what’s covered under those wraps, both interior and exterior. Here’s everything you want to know about the SUV before it officially launches in India!
The Kia Clavis exemplifies the brand’s latest Opposites United design philosophy, offering enhanced practicality compared to the Sonet, with a more spacious interior and larger boot capacity due to its increased dimensions, likely around 4.2 meters in length. Its exterior design features a tall stance, a robust upright hood, an aggressive front grille, and diamond-cut 16-inch alloy wheels, with an option for 17-inch wheels.

Engine options are anticipated to mirror those of the Kia Sonet, including the 1.2 L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.0 L turbo petrol, and 1.5 L diesel engines. Transmission options will likely include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed iMT/AT/MT, and a 7-speed DCT. An electric version will also be available with battery pack likely between 40 – 50 kWh and range probably between 450 – 500 KMs.
Jumping Inside, the Clavis is expected to offer an array of features, including seamless integrated dual 10.25-inch displays for the infotainment system, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and a fully digital instrument console similar to the Seltos. The interior will also include a dual-tone dashboard, a new 4-spoke steering wheel reminiscent of the international Kia Models like K4, EV5, etc; panoramic sunroof on top, full white or full black leatherette upholstery for the cabin, etc.In terms of features, it’ll be equipped with 8 Speakers Bose Sound System, Ventilated Seats, Level 2 ADAS, 6 Airbags as standard, Dual-Zone Climate Control, Electric Parking Brake with auto hold, One Touch Up/Down for all windows, Drive and Traction Modes, Hill Descent Control, 360 Surround View Camera, Powered Driver Seat, and so much more.Kia will be offering the Clavis with multiple powertrains with ICE version expected to launch near the end of 2024, or in first quarter of 2025. The EV version is expected to arrive by the 2nd half of 2025. A hybrid option is being assessed for the SUV and could make its way to the SUV by 2025.
