Mahindra is expected to launch the XUV.e9 in 2025 which will sit on top of the XUV.e8 with the both the SUVs sharing the same battery pack, but now Mahindra was spied testing the XUV.e9 in India for the first time and the interiors of the SUV has leaked.
The leaked images of the 5-seat SUV-coupe’s interior reveal a layout similar of the XUV.e8. Notably, the XUV.e9 features a panoramic screen spanning across the dashboard, housing three high-resolution 12.3-inch displays (1920x720p). The interior also showcases a flat-bottomed two-spoke steering wheel, two dials likely for drive and AWD modes, and a center console hosting a gear shift lever. Beneath the expansive screen, trapezoidal central air-con vents are positioned above what appear to be climate control knobs, while square-ish side AC vents define the screen’s edges.
Anticipate the range-topping model to boast features such as a Heads-Up Display (HUD) with augmented reality, a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function to power external electrical devices like microwave, and Level 2 Autonomous Driving capabilities which could be better than the XUV700.
Despite the heavy camouflage on the spied test mule, noticeable details include a closed-off grille, indicative of its electric nature. Additionally, a slot above the grille suggests the potential presence of a full-width LED band. While the test mule currently features halogen headlights, it’s likely that the production version will incorporate LED units.
The rear design of the XUV.e9, evident by the raked roofline, incorporates a substantial rear spoiler. Following the concept unveiled in August last year, this spoiler is expected to house both the tail-lights and an LED light band. Notably, the flush door handles from the concept are also observable on the test car.
Mahindra previously stated that the XUV.e9 would share its battery pack and motor options with the upcoming XUV.e8 set to debut next year. The flagship variant is likely to feature an 80kWh battery driving two motors—one for each axle, simulating an AWD setup. Power outputs are expected to span between 230hp and 350hp. Mahindra asserts notable performance capabilities from the shared battery pack.
