Maruti will be for sure launching the Grand Vitara Facelift with some big upgrades which will be notice for its rivals that they aren’t here to fool around, but to dominate the segment like they are used to doing. In this article, we listing details on what we expect Maruti to introduce and what changes they should bring with the Grand Vitara.
Maruti were expected to introduce new variants last quarter of 2023, but that didn’t happen, so now we expect the company to introduce a facelift update in 2025 which will see it getting major changes. In our render, we expect Maruti to redesign the front grille with XL6-like chrome bar at the center merging with Suzuki logo, chrome surround around the grille that goes towards the Headlamps.

These headlamps sport the NEXA’s tri-cube elements giving a distinct look; below that is the vertically-positioned mini-cubes LEDs; and then there is the Radar Module on the lower air intake grille; below is the faux skid plate finished in silver both front and rear. The side profile will retain the body shape but will get new multi-spoke alloy wheels which are of 18-inches. Moving to the rear, we expect the same LED Tail-lamps, but this time they’ll be connected by a light bar.
Jumping to the inside, we expect the interiors to look the same, but feature some upgrades such as new seamless integrated dual 10.25-inch displays – Infotainment System and Digital Cluster, replacement of Manual Handbrake with the Electric Parking Brake (EPB), a more clean look for the centre console, new dual-tone upholstery for the cabin, improved quality materials, new 4-spoke steering wheel similar to the upcoming eVX SUV, new HVAC Control Panel, and few bits here and there.
Engine | 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Z12E Petrol | 1.5 L 3 Cylinder Petrol Hybrid | 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Z12E CNG |
Drive-train | FWD, AWD | FWD | FWD |
Power | 100 BHP [Expected] | 113.97 BHP | 85 BHP [Expected] |
Torque | 135 NM [Expected] | 141 NM | 120 NM [Expected] |
Transmission | 5 Speed MT / 6 Speed AT | eCVT | 5 Speed MT |
The new Grand Vitara is expected to sport the new 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Z12E Petrol Engine which will have low power output of around 100 BHP and 135 NM Torque paired to 5 Speed Manual and 6 Speed Automatic Gearbox. Same for the CNG Engine with power output to be lowered than its current engine to achieve high mileage. However, Maruti is developing its own Series Hybrid and while the power and the torque output may be the same, it may be able to achieve high mileage compared to the current Hybrid trims using Toyota’s Strong Hybrid System.
The Grand Vitara Facelift will see the SUV getting new features which it didn’t have before such as Powered Driver Seat, Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold Function, Front Parking Sensors, Drive and Traction Modes [Drive Modes was with AWD trim only], and most importantly, Level 2 ADAS making it their second SUV after the launch of eVX in 2025 to have ADAS. Other already added features include ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging pad, 360 Surround View Camera, and so on.
If the Grand Vitara Facelift does end up launching in 2025, we expect the pricing of the new SUV to be between Rs. 11.50 Lakh to Rs. 21 Lakhs making it competitive against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota UC Hyryder, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Citroen C3 Aircross, and soon to be joining the list the highly anticipated Tata Curvv launching in festive season.
