5 Cars Are Getting Facelift Soon!

In the coming months, many carmakers will be updating their cars with a facelift that will see addition of some new features and exterior design changes. Three carmakers will be bringing the facelift updates to their cars soon – Kia, Tata, and Hyundai. Kia will be launching the Seltos facelift on July 4th, Tata will be bringing the facelift update for Nexon in August, and for Harrier and Safari in October, and Hyundai will be launching the i20 Facelift before the end of this year. Here are everything we know about the facelift update of 4 cars –

Tata Nexon Facelift (Expected Launch: August 2023)

Tata Motors had been consistently testing the Nexon facelift and might be speeding up the testing process to soon launch the facelift in India as there are rumor stating Tata Motors will start the production of the Nexon Facelift in July 2023 and launch it in August 2023. The interiors of the Nexon facelift had leaked online few weeks ago and it showed that the dashboard layout is heavily inspired from the upcoming Tata Curvv SUV slated to launch in 2024.

The leak images showed it having the two-spoke multi-function steering wheel with a digital display to control the instrument cluster, and a new 10.25-inch Infotainment system that is way more responsive than the current Nexon equipped with 7-inch infotainment system. It’ll also sport a new digital instrument cluster and possibly the Nexon could also get ADAS tech to stay miles ahead of the competition. The Nexon will also see exterior changes inspired from the Curvv SUV such as a new front design with slightly aggressive bumpers.

Tata Harrier Facelift (Expected Launch: October 2023)

Tata Motors along with the Nexon, it’s consistently testing and working on the new Harrier facelift that is expected to launch in October 2023. The Harrier will sport a new front grille design and a new LED light bar at the rear to have the connected taillamps look. As per the leaks, the front of the Harrier facelift will look exactly the same as the Harrier EV that was showcased at the Auto Expo held in January 2023.

The Harrier facelift is expected to get a new turbo petrol engine which will produce 170 bhp and 280 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed Manual Transmission and 6-speed Automatic Transmission. It could also get RDE-compliant 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine which produces 168 bhp and 350 Nm of torque paired to 6-speed Manual Transmission and 6-speed Automatic Transmission. The interior will be getting changes as well as it will be getting the new 10.25-inch infotainment system that will be sharper and smoother than the current one, new Steptronic Gear shifter and rotary dial for the drive mode. Rest of the interior looks will remain the same.

The Harrier facelift will also get new features such as multi-color ambient lighting, updated UI for infotainment system, and more ADAS tech. One more thing, it is also expected that Tata will add the digital display on the steering wheel to control the instrument cluster, and touch-sensitive screen on the center console for climate control.

Tata Safari Facelift (Expected Launch: October 2023)

Tata Motors just like the Harrier and Nexon facelift, Tata has been consistently testing the Safari but unlike the Harrier and Nexon facelift, it was only spotted very less, but still from what was seen, the Safari facelift will take design cues from the Harrier EV like a new front grille inspired from the Harrier EV and will have few additonal features over the upcoming Harrier facelift. The Safari Facelift will come with a digital display on the steering wheel to control the instrument cluster, new touch-sensitive screen on the center control for climate control. Tata is expected to launch the Safari facelift along with the Harrier Facelift in October 2023.

Hyundai i20 Facelift (Expected Launch: December 2023)

Hyundai had globally debuted the facelift of the i20 a month ago and made few tweaks in styling and other stuff. Now, Hyundai Motors has begin testing the facelift as it’s set to few minor exterior changes at the front and at the rear. The changes that can be observed are the new 5-spoke alloy wheels design that are a bit more angular. At the front, it is possible for Hyundai to have a bigger grille than the current one with a sportier front design, and sporty bumpers.

At the rear, it features a new taillight design where Hyundai might also add LED light bar for the connected LED taillights look. From the inside, it has a dashcam which is something that Hyundai currently offers in Venue N Line, and in the upcoming Exter, other than that, minor changes will take place inside. As for the powertrains, we don’t expect Hyundai to any new engines but update them to comply with the RDE and E20, and hence continue offering the same engine options. The i20 Facelift is expected before the end of this year, which is before or sometime in December 2023.
