With 2023 almost over, Hyundai had an amazing year thanks to the launch of new-gen Verna, all-new affordable SUV, Exter, and new i20 Facelift while also giving the Alcazar a mild facelift update. Now Hyundai wants to start with a bang with the first launch being Creta, and end the year with most likely with the Kona EV Facelift launch.
Hyundai Creta Facelift (Launch: January 16th, 2024)
Hyundai will be launching the Creta Facelift on the January 16th, 2024. The SUV will undergo tons of changes like the front profile features L-shaped LED DRLs which are connected by the LED light bar, and its positioned above the big grille. The bumpers of the SUV are updated, the tailgate has been redesigned and looks similar to the Venue. Additionally, the SUV gets a split unit vertical LED headlamp design and cube like detailing, and updated front grille. The spy shots while revealed that the 17-inch alloy wheel design is the same as the outgoing version, however, there has been other test mules spotted with larger 18-inch alloy wheels.
Jumping to the interiors, it was fully covered, but still from what it looks like, it’ll sport dual 10.25-inch displays similar to the new-gen Verna, redesigned dashboard and center console, and no other major change is expected although new shades for the seat upholstery is expected. In Engine Options, the Hyundai Creta will continue to sport the 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Petrol, and the 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Diesel Engine.
However, Hyundai will introduce a new engine for the Creta which we have seen it in the Alcazar, and the Verna. The 1.5 L Turbo Petrol Engine which produces 157.57 BHP and 253 NM of torque paired with the 6 Speed Manual, and 7 Speed DCT Gearbox. The Creta already comes with features like ventilated seats, 8-way powered adjustable driver seat, wireless charging, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof and so much more.
We now have confirmed list of features. It’ll get 360 Surround View Camera with front and rear parking sensors, heated seats, possibly co-driver powered seats, and Level 2 ADAS with features same as the 2023 Hyundai Verna such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring System, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Forward Collision Warning, Auto High Beam Assist, and many more.
Hyundai Alcazar Facelift (Expected: Early-to-Mid 2024)
The new Alcazar Facelift will closely resemble the Creta facelift like L-shaped LED DRLs connected by the LED light bar. The grille design may be slightly different from the Creta to avoid any confusion, updated bumpers, the tailgate has been redesigned, and now it gets connected LED tail lamps. Additionally, the SUV gets a split unit vertical LED headlamp design and cube like detailing. As for the alloys, it’ll get new design for the 18-inch wheels.
Moving to the interiors, the resemblance will be parallel, like the dual 10.25-inch displays – one for infotainment system, and for digital cluster, redesigned dashboard will sleeker AC vents, and new seat upholstery option as well. The 2nd row might get new captain seats upholstery design to enhance the feeling. Rest of it will remain the same. In Engine Options, the Alcazar will continue to be powered by the same 1.5 L Turbo Petrol and the 1.5 L Diesel Engine. Hyundai earlier this year had updated the Alcazar with a slightly updated front grille, and a new 1.5 L Turbo Petrol engine.
The Alcazar already comes with features like ventilated seats, 8-way powered adjustable driver seat, 360 Surround View Camera, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold, and so much more. We expect features similar to Creta like heated seats, possibly co-driver powered seats, powered tailgate, and Level 2 ADAS with features same as the 2023 Hyundai Verna such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring System, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Forward Collision Warning, Auto High Beam Assist, and many more.
We expect Hyundai to launch the Alcazar Facelift to launch alongside the Creta Facelift or in the first half of 2024 with expected price of Rs. 17 lakhs.
Hyundai Kona EV Facelift (Expected: Mid-to-Late 2024)
The Hyundai Kona EV has received significant international updates, particularly in terms of safety and comfort features, along with a redesigned exterior. We anticipate that the same updated model will be introduced in India, likely at a higher price point. However, this means Indian buyers will get the current generation model with updated interiors. The new interior features will include two 12.3-inch displays for the digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, connected car technology, and more.
Globally, the Hyundai Kona is available with two battery packs and motor options. For the Indian market, it’s expected that the lower-powered motor, delivering 158 BHP and 250 NM of torque, along with the smaller 48.4 kWh battery pack, will be offered. Hyundai claims a WLTP-claimed range of 490 KM, but real-world range for the previous model in India was around 220 to 250 KM
In India, the Hyundai Kona EV will face competition from the MG ZS EV, Tata Nexon.ev, upcoming new Mahindra XUV400 EV, and the BYD Atto 3 in the electric vehicle segment.
Hyundai Tucson Facelift (Expected: Mid 2024)
Hyundai had globally unveiled the new Tucson Facelift and is expected to make its way to India by Mid 2024. It will have more tough external and interior improvements, and it will flaunt a “Sensuous Sportiness” design language. Redesigned LED lights, a redesigned front grille, a lower bumper, large fake skid plates, and lower air dams are a few examples of these. Moreover, it’ll get new dual 12.3-inch display for the infotainment system and instrument cluster, the cabin has also been redesigned with a new steering wheel and dashboard design. The cabin improvements also include premium seating, including an 8-way adjustable passenger seat, a 10-way adjustable driver seat with memory capability, and heated and ventilated rear seats. A 2.0L gasoline and 2.0L diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic gearbox will power the facelifted Hyundai Tucson.
