Tata is going to kick-off 2024 with a bang starting with the launch of Punch.ev and as we all know, Tata is currently dominating the EV Segment in India and it would love to continue by introducing more EVs. In this article, we’re listing all the details of the upcoming 4 EVs from Tata launching in the next 6 months!
Tata Punch EV (Expected: January 2024)
Very recently the Punch.ev was spied with the test mule featuring updated design similar to the Nexon.ev like connected LED DRLs, split LED headlamps, straight line lower grille pattern. The Side profile largely remains the same, except for the new aero-efficient 5-spoke alloy wheel design to help increase the range. Moving to the rear, the taillamps will be slightly tweaked to differentiate from ICE version.
Earlier Spy Shots of the Punch.ev had revealed updated interiors over the ICE version like the new 10.25-inch Infotainment System, two-spoke steering wheel borrowed from the Nexon.ev which has a display that illuminates the Tata logo, rotary dial as gear shifters, and it’s possible it’ll get digital instrument cluster or a redesigned instrument cluster that displays EV-related information. Apart from this, the EV was said to be seen with a electronic parking brake and could be exclusive to top variant.
In Features, it’ll come with automatic climate control, 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, Wireless Charging Pad, Voice-activated electric sunroof, LED headlamps, and many more. As for the safety feature, it’s expected to come with 6 Airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Cruise Control, Tyre-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Disc Brakes for all wheels, 360 Surround View Camera, Rear Parking Sensors, and few more.
While we’ve no official word on the battery specs, but considering the Punch EV will be the fourth EV in the line-up, it can come with a battery pack bigger than the Tigor (26 kWh) around 30 – 40 kWh to offer range of up to 500 KMs. Tata Motors is going expected to launch the Punch.ev in January 2024 since the Block Your Date notification send few weeks ago wasn’t for the EV launch.
Tata Curvv EV (Expected: H1 2024)
Tata Curvv has been spied testing on the roads with design similar to concept version like vertically-split headlamps, sloping coupe-like roofline which integrates into the tailgate of the Curvv. From the side, it has body cladding, square-shape wheel arches, and rides on 18-inch alloy wheels with different design for ICE and EC, and the rear features connected LED taillamps and skid plates for the bumpers.
From the inside, the Curvv gets a three-layer dashboard with a 12.3-inch infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with navigation maps, two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, touch-sensitive controls for the HVAC, new leather seat upholstery for both the versions. The Curvv EV is likely to come with 45 – 50 kWh battery pack and offer single and dual motor setup to provide 500+ KMs on a single charge.
In Features, it’ll have ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, six airbags, electric parking brake with auto hold function, 10.25-inch infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, leather seat upholstery, LED Projector headlamps, Wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, Electrically adjustable front seats, ambient lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels, wireless charging, air purifier. Heads-up Display, flush door handles, and so much more.
Tata is targeting first half of 2024 for the Curvv EV Launch.
Tata Harrier and Safari EV (Expected: Mid 2024)
Tata Motors few weeks ago launched the ICE Harrier and Safari Facelift, and the design changes they made were inspired directly from their own concept SUV, Curvv. But now their EV is expected to launch soon in 2024. Notably, Tata both the EV will come with 4×4 capability, which the recent revealed ICE Harrier and Safari Facelift isn’t having that. At the Auto Expo 2023, the EV design was similar to the ICE version like the connected S-style LED taillamps. The front face was covered with body-coloured element that had lines on it, and different alloy wheel design for improved aerodynamic efficiency.
The interiors will be the same as the ICE version such as the 12.3-inch infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, four-spoke steering wheel with Tata logo illumination display, touch-sensitive controls for climate control, panoramic sunroof, and more. It could sport single motor setup for either Rear-Wheel-Drive or Front-Wheel-Drive Type, or twin motor setup enabling All-Wheel-Drive which could be good for 4×4. We can expect it to have range of 500+ KMs with a battery pack of 50 – 60 kWh.
We expect the price to start from Rs. 20 L for the Harrier EV and Rs. 22 Lakh for the Safari EV.
