Upcoming Toyota Models in India!

Toyota in India will be launching four models in India out of which 3 models are next generation update, and one new rebadged model. It’ll be launching these 4 models between 2023 and 2024. Here’s everything about the upcoming 4 models launch –

Toyota Taisor (Expected Launch: November 2023)

Toyota will be rebadging the Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV as Taisor. In design, it is expected to be influenced by the global Yaris Cross and have the same features from the Fronx like 360-degree camera, Wireless Charging Pad, 9-inch infotainment system, Heads-up Display, 16-inch alloy wheels, and few more. In Engine Options, it’ll have the same engine options as the Fronx which is the 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 87.29 bhp and 113 Nm of torque mated to 5-speed Manual and 5-speed Automatic Gearbox, and the other will be a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 98.69 bhp and 147.6 Nm of torque paired to 5-speed Manual and 6-speed Automatic Gearbox.

The interior styling and layout will most likely remain the same as the Fronx. As for the launch, it is possible that Toyota could launch the Taisor in the first week of November 2023 as part of their 6-months deal and price it at Rs. 7.56 lakh for the entry-level variant.

Toyota Fortuner (Expected Launch: July 2024)

Toyota could change the front face of the Fortuner with a new grille that would look similar to the Toyota Tacoma sold overseas. A hexagon pattern grille with outside grille shape as the hexagon, and the LED headlamps could be much more sleeker and few cuts and creases on the bonnet for a sporty. From the side, it’ll have the same design, and at the rear don’t expect it have any more changes as well.

The upcoming Fortuner will be based on he TNGA-F platform that underpins Land Cruiser LC300 and Lexus LX500d and can incorporate the hybrid engines. Yoshiki Konishi, president of Toyota Daihatsu Engineering and Manufacturing, had confirmed the next generation of the Fortuner would be a hybrid powertrain. Toyota could possibly pair the hybrid tech with the 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engines.

Toyota could add new features in the upcoming next-gen Fortuner such as a bigger infotainment system, possibly, 10.25-inch unit, a digital instrument cluster, and a refreshed layout for the dashboard. Other than this, the Fortuner continues to have features like the ventilated seats, cruise control, cooled glovebox, 2-zone climate contol, electric adjustable seats, powered tailgate, and much more.

Toyota is expected to launch the debut the new Fortuner in 2024 and launch it in India in July 2024.

Toyota Hilux (Expected Launch: August 2024)

Just like the new Fortuner, Toyota is expected to launch the new Hilux with a new hexagon pattern grille with hexagon shape grille similar to the Tacoma, and will have sleeker and sharper LED headlamps. The 2024 Hilux will come with diesel-hybrid tech, and it’ll be built on the new TNGA-F Platform which will also underpin the new upcoming Fortuner. Toyota could add new features in the Hilux same as the 2024 Fortuner, and other than that, it’ll continue to sport 2-zone climate control, cooled glovebox, seven airbags, Electronic Differential Lock, and other things as well. The 2024 Toyota Hilux is expected to debut along with the new Fortuner in 2024, and launch possibly in August 2024.

Toyota Vellfire (Expected Launch: 2024)

The 2024 Toyota Vellfire gets updated with a huge grille at the front which is similar to the latest Land Cruiser. The headlamps and DRLs units combined are sleeker than the previous version sold in India and it has a massive air vents that also houses fog lamps. From the sides, the 2024 Vellfire gets Z-shaped chrome element on the B-pillar, and curvy design all over the body. It rides on the 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels with black shade which is 2-inch bigger than the 17-inch alloy wheel we’ve got here.

At the rear, the tailgate is almost flat and the taillamps have been redesign and is extended to the side profile for a wrap-around effect, and also gets a connecting thin LED light bar with Toyota logo at the center, and below the logo is the Vellfire lettering. Toyota has made 2024 Vellfire exterior design Dynamic and Sportier on purpose to stand out against it’s rivals.

Toyota has made some significant changes to the 2024 Vellfire Cabin, and to the Cockpit. It now features a clean layout with brown leather upholstery, new three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, and a new fully digital instrument cluster over the Indian-spec Vellfire. The audio and climate controls has been shifted to the infotainment system, start/stop engine button is moved from right side (closer to door) to the left side behind the steering wheel. The AC vents design has been changed as well, and is positioned horizontally. The 2024 Vellfire comes with two powertrains – 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid with eCVT gearbox which Indian-version already has, and a new 2.4-litre turbo petrol with 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Toyota took a step further in 2024 Vellfire to increase passengers safety by adding driver assisting features like remote parking, lane keep assist, steering assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control. The new Vellfire is expected to launch sometime in 2024.
