5 Features Hyundai Exter Has that Scares the Tata Punch!

Hyundai Exter spotted in Korea!

Hyundai will be launching the Exter in the coming weeks as on Monday, it gave us a look at the SUV!

On Monday, Hyundai Motors officially revealed the real-world look of the Hyundai Exter SUV that it will be launching in India in coming weeks or months. Once launched, it’ll rival the Tata Punch as it’s got some features that the Punch doesn’t get and therefore here are the 5 features that Tata won’t see it coming.

Exter with Sunroof!

The micro SUV, Exter when it launches will directly rival the Tata Punch and it’s possible that the Exter comes with a sunroof. The leaked and spy images of the Exter showed the presence of the sunroof. When it launches, it’ll be the first affordable SUV of India with a sunroof. Tata Motors at the AutoExpo 2023 in January 2023 had showcased the Punch i-CNG and that had sunroof. Tata will be launching the Altroz iCNG in the coming weeks with addition of sunroof that can be operated through voice commands. The same can be expected for Punch as well as for now, we don’t know which variant of Punch will be having a sunroof, but it’s surely be near or after the launch of the Exter.

Wireless Charging!

Hyundai Models such as the Grand i10 Nios, and Aura, gets the wireless charging option. The Exter will probably have that as well given it’s based on the Grand i10 Nios. But did you know, Tata Punch does not have the wireless charging, but the upcoming Altroz iCNG has? While we don’t know if Punch will be getting it or not, but the Exter having a Wireless Charging features surely tops the Tata Punch.

Standard four airbags for Exter!

When the Exter launches, it’ll have four airbags as standard across all variants like the Grand i10 Nios for increased safety of its customers. The Punch on the other hand offers only two airbags across all variants which isn’t enough. Moreover, the government has made regulations on fitting six airbags in all the cars and it’s variants as mandatory from October 1st, 2023. So, eventually, Tata and Hyundai have to add more six airbags in all the Punch and Exter variants.

Increased Safety!

The Current Hyundai Models like the Aura, and Grand i10 Nios has active safety features such as ABS with EBD, ESP, hill hold assist, Cruise Control, and Tyre-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The Hyundai Exter will be having these all active safety features but as for the Punch, it has ABS with EBD, traction, and brake sway control. Hyundai could add the traction control for the Exter but for Punch to compete with the Exter, it has to have the above mentioned safety features.

Additional Features!

Unlike the Tata Punch, that has a Semi-Digital instrument cluster that is basically a small square display and next to it is one analog dial, Hyundai Exter will have the digital instrument cluster which is definitely a lot better than the Punch giving them the upper hand! The Exter will also be getting additonal features such as rear AC vents, USB Type-C ports, and footwell lighting.
