5 Things About the Upcoming Kia Sonet Facelift That Scares the Tata Nexon!

2024 Kia Sonet Facelift

Kia India was spotted a while back testing the Sonet Facelift in India with the spy shots revealing good amount of details, new features, and other things. Today, we’re going to list down 5 things about the upcoming SUV that could be a wake-up call for its rivals in this segment –

Exterior Change

As seen in the spy shots, the Sonet Facelift will sport fresh styling with the exterior going through major changes like the front profile sports a larger grille for air intake, crisper headlamp design, bigger LED DRLs, redesigned bumpers, and new set of alloy wheels. The side profile is most likely going to remain unchanged. Moving to the rear, as we saw in the spy shots, the taillamps are hugely going to be similar to the newly launched Kia Seltos facelift with connected LED light bar.

Interior Change

The Interiors of the SUV is expected to receive design and layout changes. It’s expected to get the 10.25-inch dual displays just like the Seltos, updated color theme and upholstery, maybe the steering wheel will get updated, and sharper dashboard styling with AC vents positioning now below the infotainment system instead of being at the side of the infotainment unit in the outgoing version.

New Features

The outgoing version is already feature-loaded like the ventilated seats, 10.25-inch infotainment system, multi-color ambient lights, automatic climate control, wireless charging pad, 7 Speaker Bose Premium Sound System, sunroof, and so on. It could improve in the facelift with LED Projector headlamps, new 10.25-inch infotainment system, new digital instrument cluster, Sequential Indicators, powered driver seats, and few more.

Engine Options

In Engine Options, we don’t expect Kia to introduce any new engines for the SUV as the current offerings by Kia is strong for the Sonet. As a result, it’ll continue to sport the 1.2 L 4 Cylinder Petrol Engine producing 81.86 BHP and 115 NM of torque mated to 5 Speed Manual Gearbox only. Then there is the 1.0 L 3 Cylinder Turbo Petrol engine that produces 118.36 BHP and 172 NM of torque paired to 6 Speed IMT and 7 Speed DCT Gearbox. At last, the 1.5 L Turbo Diesel engine that produces 113.43 BHP and 250 NM of torque paired to 6 Speed IMT and Automatic Gearbox.

Enhanced Safety

In Safety, the outgoing version offers 6 Airbags, ABS with EBD, Tyre-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Reverse Parking Camera, and so on. In the facelift, it’s confirmed to come with 360 Surround View Camera (as seen on the ORVM housings), introduce some standard features applicable across all variants, rear disc brakes, and more importantly, the Sonet facelift is said to come with ADAS which will be camera-based with features same as the one offered by Hyundai for the Venue like the Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, and few more.
