5 Upcoming Sedans That Are Launching Soon for the Indian Market!

In the coming months, the Indian Market will see the launch of 6 new and updated sedans that will come with host of new features. In India, the sedans popularity has lately gone down due to rise in demand of SUV. But still there are many sedans out there that has features that even the SUVs don’t even, and its very spacious and feels luxurious compared to SUVs. So, we’re going to list down all the details of the upcoming sedans, so it’ll be easy for you to understand, and stay updated with these models.

New-Gen Maruti Dzire (Expected: First Half of 2024)

Maruti Suzuki is going to launch the next-gen Dzire in India sometime in 2024 and it’s going to introduce some new features. We know for certain that the upcoming Dzire is going to come with a Strong Hybrid Setup. It’ll come with a 1.2 L Petrol engine paired with the Toyota’s Strong Hybrid setup, and this 1.2 L Petrol engine won’t be 4 Cylinder but a 3 Cylinder with an eCVT Gearbox and can expect mileage somewhere between 35 – 40 KMPL. Other than that, it’ll continue to provide the option of Petrol-only, and CNG fuel options.

In Features, expect Maruti Suzuki to load Dzirre with new features like the 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, and wireless charging pad. In Safety, we can expect Maruti to add 360 Surround View Camera, 6 airbags, and possibly Heads-up Display (HUD). Since the Dzire is build on the same platform as Swift, you can expect it to launch alongside the Swift in 2024.

New-Gen Honda Amaze (Expected: 2024)

Honda is likely to launch the new-gen Amaze in 2024 and its expected to be underpinned by the City platform. The Amaze got the second-gen facelift update in 2021, and since then nothing. So for the 3rd Gen, we expect the Amaze to follow the design language of the current City. Even the interiors you can expect them to be similar in styling. So, we expect the Amaze to come with features like the 8-inch infotainment system, wireless charging pad, and semi-digital instrument cluster. Also, Amaze is rumored to be equipped with ADAS or it could be mild ADAS with features like forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and more.

Hyundai IONIQ 6 (Expected: Early – Mid 2024)

Hyundai Motors India had showcased the IONIQ 6 at the Auto Expo 2023 held in January, and since then we’ve heard nothing about it. The electric sedan had launched globally in July 2022 with claimed range of 614 KM. The IONIQ 6 has already won 3 2023 World Car Awards – World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle, and World Car Design of the Year. The all-electric sedan comes with either rear or all-wheel drive type and a choice of two battery packs – 53 kWh and 77.4 kWh battery.

The 53 kWh battery pack is a standard battery with a single motor that powers the rear wheels, and generates 224.88 BHP and 350 NM of torque, and gives 429 KM claimed range, the 77.4 kWh battery pack is available in RWD with claimed range of 614 KM, and if you decide to opt for the dual-motor setup All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) variant, it puts out 583 KM. The Ioniq 6 features a flat center console same on the one in Ioniq 5 with minimalist design for the dashboard. The displays here of 12-inch – Digital Instrument Cluster, and Infotainment System.

The Ioniq 6 is more driver-focused electric sedan than family focused with touches, and Ioniq 6 gets this mode called “EV Performance Tune-up” that allows the driver to select multiple drive mode configurations for different conditions. Moreover, the electric sedan has a drag coefficient of 0.21 cd, and they were able to achieve this number thanks to flush door handles, and cameras in place of the traditional wing mirrors.

We should hear more about the SUV in the comings month with expected launch in 2024.

New-Gen Skoda Superb (Expected: Late 2024 – Early 2025)

Skoda is all set to make the global debut of the new-gen Superb by the end of this year. As to what it means for the Indian users, Skoda India is first going to reintroduce the current gen Superb which failed to make transition through the BS6.2. The Superb was available with the 2.0 L Turbo Petrol Engine producing 187.74 BHP and 320 NM of torque paired to 7 Speed DSG Gearbox. It measured 4869 MM in length, 1864 MM in width, 1469 MM in height, and features wheelbase of 2851 MM. It had a boot space of 625 Litres, and fuel tank of 66 Litres.

It was loaded with features like the ventilated seats, 3-zone Climate Control, Electric Adjustable Front Seats, Heated Seats, Seat Lumbar Support, Adaptive LED headlights, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 11 Speakers Skoda Sound System, and so much more. Safety features include 8 Airbags, Auto-Dimming IRVM, TPMS, 360 Surround View Camera, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, and so much more. The sedan was available at Rs. 32 – Rs. 37.29 Lakh for the current-gen that’s discontinued, so expect the price of the reintroduced version to be slightly higher, and as the new-gen Superb, we’ve have to wait and see what Skoda has stored for us.

New-Gen Skoda Octavia RS-iV (Expected: Early – Mid 2024)

The Skoda Octavia will definitely make its big return to India especially the performance RS model. Skoda will bring the environment friendly sedan by introducing the plug-in hybrid version Octavia RS iV. In India, it’ll be sold through the CBU route which will restrict its imports to 2500 units annually. Earlier this year, there were reports of the debut happening in mid 2023, but since we’ve not heard anything, we expect to be announce in early 2024, and then launch after a month or so.
