Mahindra XUV300 Facelift (Expected: Early 2024)
Mahindra after months of testing the XUV300 Facelift is all set to launch the SUV in the early 2024, possibly in the month of February 2024. The SUV will undergo many of changes from the outside and the inside like the exterior will see new LED headlamp unit with C-shaped Dual-functional LED that works as DRLs and Indicators, new rectangle black element on the grille, new bumper design, and flat bonnet for increased visibility. The side profile remains the same except for the new alloy wheel design. The rear will feature new LED taillamps and a LED light bar for a connected light sequence
Inside, it’ll get revised dashboard design to cater the free-standing 10.25-inch infotainment system, new 4-spoke steering wheel and digital instrument cluster, thinner AC vents, redesigned centre console, and new colour for leather seat upholstery. In Engine Options, it’ll continue to be offered with 1.2 L Turbo Petrol and 1.5 L Diesel Engine with no change in power output and gearbox choices. Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor (Expected: Early 2024)
Toyota is expected to launch the Fronx-based SUV in early 2024. The Taisor is expected to have front change inspired from either the Hyryder, or from the Glanza. The Interiors however will be same as Fronx and it’ll be just a software and logo change. Even in Dimensions, the SUV measures the same as the Maruti Fronx. In Engine Options, the Taisor should have three options – 1.2 L Petrol paired to 5 Speed MT / AMT, 1.0 L Turbo Petrol paired to 5 Speed MT, 6 Speed AT, and 1.2 L CNG mated to 5 Speed MT Gearbox only.
In Features, the Taisor will come with features like LED Projector headlamps, LED taillamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, 9-inch infotainment system with Wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, wireless charging pad, 6-speaker Arkamy’s sound system, height adjustable driver seat, and more. Safety features include six airbags, 360 Surround View camera with rear parking sensors, automatic headlamps, heads-up display, Cruise Control, Traction Control, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Assist, ISOFIX anchorages, and Front Disc Brakes.
Lastly, the Urban Cruiser Taisor is expected to be priced from Rs. 8 Lakh for the entry-level variant.
Tata Punch.ev (Launch: January 17th 2024)
Tata Electric unveiled the Punch.ev and it looks resembles the Nexon.ev from the front, and the rear looks the ICE Punch. It’ll be available in 5 Trims for standard version, and 3 Trims for the Long Range version. The EV has features like Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold, Ventilated Seats, 10.25-inch Infotainment System, 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Cluster, Air Purifier, Blind Spot Monitor, and so much more. Bookings are open for the EV at Rs. 21,000 with launch taking place tomorrow on January 17th, 2024, and we expect Tata to price the Punch.ev from Rs. 10 Lakh.
New-Gen Maruti Swift (Expected: Early 2024)
Maruti Suzuki was seen testing the new Swift in India. The new Swift gets redesigned front grille and bumper design while retaining headlamps and tail lamps shape but looks a bit sharper compared to the outgoing version. Even though Suzuki calls it 4th Gen, the Swift is basically an heavily updated hatchback with slight growth in dimensions like its 15 MM longer, 40 MM narrower, and 30 MM taller. The wheelbase remains unchanged, 2450 MM.
The interiors resemble the Fronx, Baleno like the switchgear, HVAC controls, floating 9-inch touchscreen infotainment, analog instrument cluster, steering wheel, etc. The Swift showcased at TMS was fitted with ADAS, but to keep the cost down, it’s likely the Indian-spec model won’t be fitted with ADAS. The alloy wheels seen on the new Swift was all blacked out and could’ve been the 16-inch wheels.
In Engine Options, the concept Swift debuted all-new 1.2 L 3 Cylinder petrol engine (codenamed as Z12). So, we expect the power of the Z12 engine to be lower, while the torque could be on the higher side as this would help Maruti achieve better fuel efficiency in India. Additionally, the Concept Swift shown was equipped with hybrid tech, however, it’s unlikely the Indian-spec will sport the hybrid tech.
Mahindra XUV300 EV (Expected: Mid 2024)
Mahindra XUV300 EV was seen testing on the roads which will look closely similar to the ICE version and will have same features with an addition of electric parking brake with auto hold function. The XUV300 EV will be positioned below the XUV400 EV, and could sport a battery pack of around 30 kWh to offer range of 350 KMs. The EV will compete with the likes of Nexon.ev.
Citroen C3X (Expected: Mid 2024)
Citroen has been testing the C3X for months now, and what we know so far is the sedan is based on the CMP Modular Platform which underpins other of its Citroen models – C3, and C3 Aircross. It’ll compete with Tata Curvv SUV, and Sedans like Hyundai Verna, VW Virtus, Skoda Slavia, Honda City, and Maruti Ciaz. The C3X looks very similar to its siblings like the front fascia similar to C3 Aircross or C3, taillamps same except it’ll be tweaked a little to differentiate, and it’ll get new X-shape 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Jumping to cabin, it’ll look largely the same as it siblings and it’ll sport 10.25-inch infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. In Engine Options, it’ll be equipped with the same 1.2 L Turbo Petrol engine producing 108.62 BHP and 190 NM of torque paired to 6 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox. In Safety, it’ll get 2 Airbags, TPMS, Manual IRVM, Rear Parking Camera, ISOFIX anchorages, and few more. Since an aggressive pricing is expected, the C3X will likely miss out on ventilated seats, powered driver seats, ADAS, sunroof, just to list a few.
We should be hearing more about the C3X in the coming weeks.
