This year, the Indian Market will see the launch of 6 new electric SUVs from brands – Tata to Hyundai. Some electric SUVs has tons of features and styling upgrades over their ICE versions while some EVs are new. In this article, we’ve described all the details of these SUVs which you should know!
Tata Curvv EV (Expected: H1 2024)
Tata Curvv has been testing the Curvv for a while and it looks almost same as the concept like vertically split headlamps, sloping coupe-like roofline that joins into the connected taillamps. Moreover, it’ll have new aero-efficient 18-inch alloy wheels and skid plates for the bumpers. From the inside, the Curvv gets a three-layer dashboard with a 12.3-inch infotainment system, 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Cluster, 2-spoke steering wheel with Tata logo illumination, touch-sensitive controls for the HVAC, and new leather seat upholstery.
Moreover, the Curvv EV is likely to come with 45 – 50 kWh battery pack and offer single and dual motor setup to provide 500+ KMs on a single charge. In Features, it’ll have ventilated seats, 360 Surround View camera, Electric Parking Brake with auto hold, Electrically adjustable front seats, ambient lighting, wireless charging, air purifier, Heads-up Display, flush door handles, and so much more.
Tata is expected to launch the EV in the first half of 2024.

Mahindra XUV300 EV (Expected: Mid 2024)
Mahindra XUV300 EV was seen testing on the roads which will look closely similar to the ICE version like connected LED Taillamps, C-Shaped LED DRLs, closed front grille while the interiors will look the same as well like free-standing 10.25-inch infotainment system, and 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Cluster, dual-tone dashboard, and an addition of electric parking brake with auto hold function replacing the manual handbrake. The XUV300 EV will be positioned below the XUV400 EV, and could sport a battery pack of around 30 kWh to offer range of 350 KMs. The EV will compete with the likes of Nexon.ev.
Skoda Enyaq iV (Expected: Mid 2024)
Skoda will be launching the Enyaq iV for the Indian Market which will be first EV from the brand, and this will be imported to India as CBU unit. The crossover EV is slightly smaller than the Skoda’s flagship three-row SUV, Kodiaq. The Enyaq iV ’80x’ top trim was spotted testing in India which has a 77 kWh battery pack and powered by two motors, one on each axle, and in total it produces 262 BHP, has a claimed range of 500 KMs, and can sprint from 0 – 100 KMPH in 6.9 Seconds. While nothing is confirmed at the moment, it remains to be seen if Skoda will offer lower trims or only a top trim for the Indian Market.
Maruti Suzuki eVX (Expected: Late 2024)
The Maruti Suzuki eVX debuted at the Auto Expo 2023 last year, and then few months ago, almost production-ready concept was showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show 2023. The 5-Seater Electric SUV comes with new connected X LED DRLs, LED headlamps underneath the DRLs, chunky bumpers, new aero-efficient alloy wheels, and connected X LED Taillamps. The interiors features dual-tone dashboard, seamlessly integrated 10.25-inch displays for infotainment system, and digital instrument cluster.
Moreover, in features, it’ll get 360 Surround View Camera, ADAS, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Powered Driver Seat, Panoramic Sunroof, and so much. It’s also worth noting that the eVX will come with 4×4 drive type to have the SUV capable for off-roading.
New Kia EV9 (Expected: Late 2024)
Kia had showcased the EV9 at the Auto Expo 2023 in January, and later launched their flagship SUV in South Korea, and other markets. Kia confirmed that its expanding the reach of EV9 to other international markets, and India is confirmed to be one of them. The EV9 measures 5+ Meters in Length, and it’s built on their Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). Kia claims the EV9 on a single charge can travel up to 541 KMs, and is offered in two variants.
The Standard trim comes with 76.1 kWh battery pack with a single motor powering the rear wheels producing 214.5 BHP and 350 NM of torque and sprints from 0 – 100 KMPH in 8.2 seconds at a 185 KMPH top speed. There is a long range trim with 99.8 kWh battery pack with two drive options – Rear-Wheel-Drive (RWD) with a single motor producing 201 BHP and 350 NM torque and does 0 – 100 KMPH in 9.4 Seconds, the second is the All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) with dual motor setup generating 380 BHP and 600 NM of torque and accelerates from 0 – 100 KMPH in 5.3 seconds at 200 KMPH top speed.
The EV9 has features like 9 Airbags, Level 3 ADAS, Full Display Mirror w/ HomeLink, Heated ORVMs, 3-zone climate control, 10-way Powered Driver and 8-way Co-Passenger Seat with 2-way Lumbar Adjustment, 1st and 2nd Ventilated & Heated Seats, Dual 12.3-inch DIsplays, Dual Sunroof, 360 Surround View Camera, 12-inch Heads-up Display (HUD), 14-Speaker Meridian Premium Sound System, 21-inch Alloy Wheels, and so much more.
Hyundai Creta EV (Expected: Late 2024)
Hyundai has finally launched the ICE version for the Indian Market but now it also wants to launch the electric version as well. The electric version of the Creta has been spotted testing many times with the pre-facelift design in India, however, in Korea, it was spotted with the new facelift version body with front changes like the connected dual L-shaped DRLs and Taillamps, new seamlessly integrated 10.25-inch dual displays, closed grille for the EV, and so on.
Rest in features, everything will be the same like ventilated seats, electric parking brake, ADAS, 360 Surround View Camera, and so on. Moreover, the EV will be equipped with a battery pack between 45 – 50 kWh with single and dual motor setup giving range of 500 KMs. On its launch, it’ll compete with the upcoming Maruti eVX due for 2024 launch as well.
Mahindra XUV.e8 (Expected: December 2024)
Mahindra was seen testing the XUV700-based electric SUV, XUV.e8 which is said to launch in December 2024. The XUV.e8 will look slightly different over the ICE Version of XUV700 like closed front grille, slightly different bumpers, and tweaked taillamps. Moreover, the EV will get triple-screen layout for the luxurious experience with size likely to be of 10.25-inch. This triple screen layout is focused on three elements – one for co-passenger to watch Netflix and other stuff, center infotainment system for EV details, and the digital instrument cluster.
It could sport a 50 – 60 kWh battery pack to offer range of 500+ KMs. The XUV.e8 will compete with the upcoming Tata Harrier.ev and Safari.ev. More details of the electric SUV should be made public soon in the coming months.
