Maruti will be unleashing 6 new cars in the coming years and out of these cars, it’s either new cars, or an update. In this article, we’ve explained everything we know about these 6 new cars launching in the coming years.
New-Gen Maruti Swift (Expected: Early 2024)
Maruti Suzuki was seen testing the new Swift in India. The new Swift gets redesigned front grille and bumper design while retaining headlamps and tail lamps shape but looks a bit sharper compared to the outgoing version. Even though Suzuki calls it 4th Gen, the Swift is basically an heavily updated hatchback with slight growth in dimensions like its 15 MM longer, 40 MM narrower, and 30 MM taller. The wheelbase remains unchanged, 2450 MM.

The interiors resemble the Fronx, Baleno like the switchgear, HVAC controls, floating 9-inch touchscreen infotainment, analog instrument cluster, steering wheel, etc. The Swift showcased at TMS was fitted with ADAS, but to keep the cost down, it’s likely the Indian-spec model won’t be fitted with ADAS. The alloy wheels seen on the new Swift was all blacked out and could’ve been the 16-inch wheels.
In Engine Options, the concept Swift debuted all-new 1.2 L 3 Cylinder petrol engine (codenamed as Z12). So, we expect the power of the Z12 engine to be lower, while the torque could be on the higher side as this would help Maruti achieve better fuel efficiency in India. Additionally, the Concept Swift shown was equipped with hybrid tech, however, it’s unlikely the Indian-spec will sport the hybrid tech.
New-Gen Maruti Dzire (Expected: H1 2024)
Just like the New-Gen Maruti Swift, the new-gen Dzire is also in the works. The Dzire is basically the sedan version of the hatchback Swift, and it’s likely it’ll get the same redesigned front grille, sharper LED headlamps and taillamps except it’ll tweaked a bit to make to differ from the Swift, but it’ll retain the bumper design. The interiors will likely be the same as the Fronx, Brezza, Baleno, etc, meaning it’ll sport free-standing 9-inch infotainment system, switchgear, HVAC controls, analog instrument cluster, steering wheel, etc.
If the Swift does launch in India with ADAS, then we can expect the Dzire to come with ADAS as well. As for the powertrains, the concept Swift had debuted all-new 1.2 L 3 Cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine which is codenamed under Z12. So, we can expect the new engine on the new-gen Dzire as well. The new Dzire should launch around the same time as the Swift in 2024.
Maruti Grand Vitara ADAS Trim (Expected: H1 2024)
Maruti was all set to introduce ADAS earlier this year for the Grand Vitara, but for some reason, that plan was never executed this year leading to a delay. However, it’s being reported that Maruti indeeds plans on introducing a new trim for the Grand Vitara which will have ADAS with features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and more; it’ll also surely get some new features that is likely to be the Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold function. We should be getting an official update from the brand soon in 2024.
Maruti Suzuki eVX (Expected: Late 2024)
The Maruti Suzuki eVX debuted at the Auto Expo 2023 last year, and then few months ago, almost production-ready concept was showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show 2023. The 5-Seater Electric SUV comes with new connected X LED DRLs, LED headlamps underneath the DRLs, chunky bumpers, new aero-efficient alloy wheels, and connected X LED Taillamps. The interiors features dual-tone dashboard, seamlessly integrated 10.25-inch displays for infotainment system, and digital instrument cluster.
Moreover, in features, it’ll get 360 Surround View Camera, ADAS, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Powered Driver Seat, Panoramic Sunroof, and so much. It’s also worth noting that the eVX will come with 4×4 drive type to have the SUV capable for off-roading.
Maruti’s Micro-SUV (Expected: 2025 – 2026)
Maruti is developing a new Micro SUV to compete with the likes of Hyundai Exter, and the Tata Punch. The 5-Seater Micro SUV will be positioned below the Brezza SUV and it’ll likely won’t get big features like the 360 Surround View Camera, and Heads-up Display (HUD). It’ll pack features like automatic climate control, 7-inch infotainment system, reverse parking camera, sunroof, wireless charging pad, and few more. Moreover, it’s possible the engine options will only be the 1.2 L Z-Series 3 cylinder petrol engine to achieve higher fuel efficiency.
Maruti’s Spacia-based MPV (Expected: 2025 – 2026)
Maruti is developing another MPV which is based on the Spacia (sold internationally). This MPV be a sub 4 meter vehicle and will be positioned below the Ertiga in the line-up. The Spacia measures 3,395 MM in length which won’t really work in India and certainly Maruti will increase the length of the new MPV to around 3,995 MM making it a direct rival to Renault Triber. Moreover, the Spacia has sliding doors which Maruti won’t offer due to costs since they are going to take every step possible to keep it on the affordable side. Internally, it’s codenamed “YDB.”
However, it’s worth nothing the MPV will retain the boxy design, and possible that it could be sold through the Arena dealerships. We should be hearing more about the MPV in the coming months.
