Maruti Suzuki was spotted testing the Swift in India with the test mules were heavily camouflaged, but if you take a look at the headlamps, and the tail lamps, it was enough to confirm that this was indeed the new Swift. The new Swift gets redesigned front grille and bumper design while retaining headlamps and tail lamps shape but looks a bit sharper compared to the outgoing version.
Even though Suzuki calls it 4th Gen, the Swift is basically an heavily updated hatchback which means the dimensions are almost the same except its only 15 MM longer, 40 MM narrower, and 30 MM taller. The wheelbase remains unchanged, 2450 MM. Moving to the interiors, we barely get to see the interiors of the test mule, but as seen at the Motor Show, the interiors resemble the Fronx, Baleno, Brezza like the switchgear, HVAC controls, floating 9-inch touchscreen infotainment, analog instrument cluster, steering wheel, etc.
The Swift showcased was fitted with ADAS, but to keep the cost down, it’s likely the Indian-spec model won’t be fitted with ADAS. The alloy wheels seen on the new Swift was all blacked out and could’ve been the 16-inch wheels.
As for the powertrains, the concept Swift debuted all-new 1.2 L 3 Cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine which is codenamed under Z12. So, we expect the power of the Z12 engine to be lower, while the torque could be on the higher side as this would Maruti achieve better fuel efficiency in India. Additionally, the Concept Swift shown was equipped with hybrid tech, however, it’s unlikely the Indian-spec will sport the hybrid tech.

The new Dzire is in works and it’ll sport design language similar to the Swift. The next-gen Dzire will get new front grille, bumpers, new sleeker LED headlamps and tail lamps. It’ll also be getting new 16-inch alloy wheel design. Jumping to the cabin, it’ll get new 9-inch free-standing infotainment system, new HVAC control panel, updated dashboard design, and so much more. Moreover, the Dzire will get the new 1.2 L 3 Cylinder Z-Series Petrol Engine which will have less power output to improve the fuel efficiency over the current version.
It’ll be getting new features like 360 surround view camera, wireless charging pad, 6 Airbags, and so much more. It’s expected some time after the new Swift launch in early 2024.
The next-gen Honda Amaze will be built on the platform which underpins the City Sedan, the Honda ACE Platform, and it’ll likely adopt similar design language as well, and share some similarity to Accord (sold internationally) like the new grille with hexagonal-like pattern, thinner and sleeker LED DRLs within the LED headlamp unit, and the bumpers little aggressive than the current version.
Jumping to the interior, we expect the interiors to undergo new design layout to accommodate a free-standing touchscreen 8-inch infotainment system, similar to the Accord. Moreover, it’s possible the interior layout could be similar to the City as well like a new 4-spoke steering wheel, vertically positioned AC vents, dual-tone treatment for the dashboard, separate wireless charging pad space below the Climate Control, and a single-pane sunroof, making it the first sedan in the segment to offer this feature.
In the New-Gen Amaze, it’ll be getting new features like 8-inch Infotainment System with Wireless Apple Carplay / Android Auto, 6 Airbags, Auto-Dimming IRVM, Single-Pane Sunroof, and ADAS with functions like Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, etc.
We should definitely hear more about the New-Gen Amaze in 2024.
Citroen has been testing the C3X for months now, and what we know is that the C3X will be based on the CMP Modular Platform which underpins other Citroen SUVs – C3 and C3 Aircross. The C3X will compete against the Tata Curvv SUV, and Sedans like Hyundai Verna, VW Virtus, Skoda Slavia, Honda City, and Maruti Ciaz. The C3X will have many features borrow from its existing models like the front fascia, and features will be taken from the C3 Aircross.
But changes will be observed from the side where the sloping roofline will be major attraction for the customers. The test mules seen so far had heavily covered the rear section and so its to hard to tell, but it’s possible the LED tail lamps will be the same as C3 Aircross and may be tweaked a little to differentiate between the two. However, the possibility of an connected tail lamps is pretty much zero given they might willing to price this model towards the affordable side.
The C3X will borrow equipments from C3 Aircross like the 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, 7-inch Digital Colour TFT Instrument Cluster, electrically adjustable ORVMs, 4-spoke steering wheel which is leather-wrapped, and that’s about it. However, the C3X will be using the same powertrain which powers the C3 and C3 Aircross, the 1.2 L 3 Cylinder Turbo Petrol engine producing 108.62 BHP and 190 NM of torque paired to 6 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox.
Additionally, it’ll have safety features like 6 Airbags, ABS with EBD, Hill-Hold assist, TPMS, ESC, Rear Parking Camera, ISOFIX anchorages, and few more. Since an aggressive pricing is expected, the C3X will likely miss out on ventilated seats, powered driver seats, ADAS, sunroof, just to list a few. We should be hearing more about the C3X in the coming weeks.
