Audi Q8 Launched at Rs. 1.33 Crores, becomes brand’s flagship car for India

Audi Q8 has been launched in India at a price tag of Rs. 1.33 crores.

It will only be offered with a single engine option which will be the BS-VI compliant 3.0 litre 55TFSI petrol engine which is capable of generating 340 PS of power and 500 NM of torque and is offered with a 48V mild hybrid system as well.The motor draws the power via 8 speed automatic gearbox which comes available with Audi’s Quattro all wheel drive system.It also gets Audi Drive select with a total of 7 modes.0-100 mph comes in 5.9 seconds.The top speed is rated at 250 Km/hr.

In terms of dimensions, the length, width, height and wheelbase of the flagship SUV by Audi are 4986 mm, 1995 mm, 1705 mm and 2995 mm respectively.Kerb weight is 2115 KG and is also features adaptive air suspension with controlled damping.

In terms of design and overall looks, upfront if gets large size front grille in octagonal shape.The headlamps are Audi’s Matrix LED ones.Pronounced air intakes adds to overall character of SUV.The sportiness of the premium SUV gets enhanced by those classy 21 inch alloy wheels.The rear section boasts connected LED tail lamps and trapezoidal dual exhaust tail pipes.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India, said, “With the launch of the Audi Q8, we are targeting individuals who want their car to match their personality. Each Audi Q8 will be made-to-order, available with a plethora of customization options to choose from; we want every Q8 in the country to look different, from the outside and the inside. The Audi Q8 will be imported to India as a fully built units and there will be only 200 units on offer. The launch of our new flagship SUV marks the beginning of a power-packed year for us and we are confident that the Audi Q8 will attract enthusiasts who enjoy driving.”

Mr. Dhillon further added, “We are entering a new segment with the Audi Q8 but the guiding principles remain the same – bold design, cutting edge technology and exciting performance. The 3.0L TFSI engine with 48V mild-hybrid technology, progressive steering and air suspension make every drive in the Q8 memorable.”

The cockpit designed cabin is driver focussed and the piano black finish on the dashboard adds to the premium feel.Audi Q8 comes with a total of two touchscreens – one for the infotainment system (10.1 inch) and other for the climate control settings(8.6 inch).Along with this, it also features Audi’s virtual cockpit all digital instrument cluster.What adds to convenience is the button less operation of the touchscreens.

Top Features of Audi Q8 includes ambient lights, 4 zone automatic climate control, cruise control, connected car technology, panoramic sunroof, frameless doors, electrically powered front seats, Bang and Olufsen. 3D surround system with 23 speakers of 1920 watts.Safety Features of this SUV are electronic stability programme, ABS with EBD, 360 degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, 8 airbags, lane departure warning and tyre pressure monitoring system.

The latest launch by the carmakers for India, Audi Q8 will lock horns with the upcoming BMW X6.
