After the Harrier and Safari, Tata Motors had sent the Nexon EV & Punch EV for the Crash Testing at Bharat NCAP, and it did not disappoint as it secured 5 Star Safety Rating in Both Adult and Child Protection Crash Tests.
Both the EVs were tested by the Bharat NCAP, and its crash results are revealed. First for Nexon EV, in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), the EV scored 29.86 points out of the maximum 32 points. Out of 29.86 points, the EV scored 14.26 points in the frontal offset deformable barrier test, and 15.60 point in Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test. In Frontal Barrier Test, the Head, Thighs, Neck, and Feet shows Good Protection while the Adequate protection for the Chest for Driver, and Legs, but Good for Occupant except one leg shows adequate. In Side Barrier Test, it shows good protection for head, belly, and pelvis but adequate protection for chest.

In Child Occupant Protection (COP), the EV scored 44.95 points out of maximum 49 points. An 18-month-old and 3-year-old child dummies were used to demonstrate the protection offered by Tata and this is how it went. The EV had a Dynamic Score of 23.95 points out of 24; Child Restraint System (CRS) installation score were 12 on 12 points, and 9 points out of 13 for vehicle assessment. The Nexon EV was crash tested in May 2024, and the results are applicable for both the Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR) versions of the electric SUV.The Punch EV in AOP scored 31.46 points out of 32 which is more than the Nexon EV scored. Out of these points, the frontal offset deformable barrier test showed good protection for head, neck, pelvis, thigh while adequate protection was for chest of passenger, and legs of driver, thus it scored 15.71 points. In Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test, the head, Belly, Pelvis shows good protection while chest shows adequate protection, thus the 15.74 points.
For COP, the Punch EV scored 45 points out of maximum 49 points which is 0.05 more than the Nexon EV. The EV had a Dynamic Score of full 24 points, Child Restraint System (CRS) installation also scored full 12 on 12 points, and 9 points out of 13 for vehicle assessment.
