Naming Contest and Design Features
In an innovative marketing move, Skoda invited social media users to suggest names for the new SUV. The name had to start with ‘K’ and end with ‘Q’, and be one or two syllables long. From over 130,000 entries, Skoda shortlisted ten names: Kwiq, Kymaq, Kylaq, Kariq, Kyroq, Kosmiq, Kayaq, Kaiq, Kliq, and Karmiq. The final name will be chosen by a distinguished jury including Skoda executives Martin Jahn, Piyush Arora, Jan Bures, and Petr Jeneba. The ten shortlisted participants will get an exclusive trip to Skoda’s headquarters and museum in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic, and one lucky winner will receive the new SUV.
The upcoming compact SUV will share its platform with the Kushaq and Slavia and is expected to feature signature Skoda design elements such as a sleek grille, LED DRLs, and split headlights. The rear design will likely include sharp LED taillights and a thick bumper, resembling the Kushaq. Additional features may include roof rails and alloy wheels.
