Tata Motors or Tata Electrics has unveiled the next electric model for their line-up, Punch.ev. The Punch.ev comes with tons of new features that even its ICE sibling doesn’t get.
Tata Punch.ev Unveiled: What you need to know!
The Punch.ev in flesh looks very similar to the Nexon.ev. The front profile features connected LED DRLs, vertically-positioned LED headlamps, skid plates for bumper, rugged front look, and importantly, it gets front-mounted charging port which is just belw the light bar where Tata logo is. The side profile looks slightly different than the ICE version like .ev badging next to wheel arches and new aero-efficient wheel design for the 16-inch alloy wheels. The rear profile looks the same as ICE, X-shape LED taillamps, punch.ev badging, little creases, and that’s all. Notably, you get front frunk (front boot space).
Jumping inside, the layout looks same as the ICE except it gets new free-standing 10.25-inch Harman HD Infotainment System, and 10.25-inch Fully Digital Instrument Cluster with Navigation maps as well. The centre console has been updated with the addition of electric parking brake with auto hold function button. In Battery pack, Tata is offering a bigger battery pack that promises better range and faster charging solution.
Punch.ev has two battery pack, 25 kWh and 35 kWh (Long Range) with minimum range of 300 KMs. Moving to the features, the new EV will get 360 Surround View Camera, Front Ventilated Seats, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold, two 10.25-inch displays, Disc Brakes for All Wheels, Multiple Voice Assistants – Alexa, Tata, and Siri, Air Purifier, and so much more.
The EV will be available with 5 Dual-tone colour options – Empowered Oxide, Seawood, Fearless Red, Daytona Grey, and Pristine White; and has 1 single-tone option for base trim – Pristine White. The Dual-tone paint options are paired with Black Roof. The Punch.ev is available in 5 trims – Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+; and the Long Range version has 3 trims – Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+.
Bookings for the EV has opened at Rs. 21,000 with an expected taking place near the end of this month. The Punch.ev on its launch will compete with the Citroen eC3.
