Citroen Basalt was spied parked on the side of the road completely camouflaged ahead of its launch in the next few months. Even though its camouflaged, it still reveals some interesting details. Let’s deep dive and see what this test mule has got for us.
Citroen Basalt Spotted Yet Again: Base Trim Spied?
The upcoming Citroen Coupe SUV was recently spotted, giving a glimpse of its features and design. Its front profile closely resembles the C3 and C3 Aircross, with halogen headlamps and no daytime running lights (DRLs). The side profile shows 16-inch black-painted steel wheels, no roof rails, and no turn indicators on the ORVMs. The rear remains camouflaged, but it’s likely that the tail lamps are also halogen.

This variant appears to be above the base trim, suggested by the black-painted wheels. However, this could be a test mule using steel wheels, as manufacturers often avoid alloy wheels during initial testing. Other test mules have been seen with X-design alloy wheels and LED headlamps.
The Coupe SUV, potentially named Basalt, will sit above the C3 Aircross in Citroen’s lineup. Expected features include automatic climate control, auto-dimming IRVM, rain-sensing wipers, ventilated seats, six airbags, and front and rear parking sensors. Inside, it will likely share similarities with the C3 Aircross, offering a 10.1-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital cluster, and rear AC vents.
Under the hood, the Basalt will be powered by a 1.2 L 3 Cylinder turbo petrol engine, producing 109 BHP and 190 Nm of torque with a 6 Speed Manual and 205 NM Torque with the 6 Speed Automatic gearbox. Expected to be priced between Rs. 10.50 lakh and Rs. 15 lakh, the launch is anticipated in the coming months.
