Citroen India has announced the Basalt’s prices, starting at an aggressive Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). While it has no direct rivals at this price, it will compete with the upcoming Tata Curvv ICE. Bookings have begun with a Rs. 11,000 token, and the introductory price is valid for reservations made before October 31. All Variants Pricing will be announced in coming days.

The Citroen Basalt’s production model stays true to its initial sketches, with the standout feature being the matte plastic cladding, replacing the typical gloss black. Built on the same platform as the C3 Aircross, the Basalt sports a familiar front fascia but introduces projector headlamps—a first for Citroen’s C-Cubed models in India. The design is further characterized by squared-off wheel arch cladding, a pinched window line, and a smooth roofline. The vehicle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and retains the pull-type door handles from the C3 Aircross. At the rear, a contoured tailgate, 3D-effect halogen tail lamps, and a dual-tone bumper in black and silver add to its distinctive look.
The interior of the Citroen Basalt has been upgraded with several notable enhancements. It now features a new HVAC panel with digital readouts and toggle switches, along with automatic AC, an improvement over the manual AC found in the C3 Aircross. Other updates include a larger front armrest with built-in storage, restyled rear headrests, and adjustable thigh support for the rear bench seat.
The boot offers a generous 470 litres of capacity, and rear AC vents are included for added comfort. High-spec variants are equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch all-digital instrument cluster, a three-spoke steering wheel, a 15W wireless smartphone charger, and connected car technology. The interior design is further refined with Citroen’s C-Cubed motifs, combining gloss black and textured surfaces to create a premium atmosphere.
The Citroen Basalt is loaded with advanced features, including automatic climate control, rear AC, a 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, and a wireless charging pad.
