Citroen has teased that it will be debuting the a new mid-size SUV, Citroen C3 Aircross, next week which will mark the third model it’ll be launching in India and therefore you should know these 5 things about it.

Citroen C3 Aircross – Shares platform with C3 hatchback

Citroen will be launching the C3 Aircross next week on April 27th. This new mid-size SUV has been engineered and built in India. It will be build on the CMP platform which underpins the C3 hatchback as well. The spy shots reveals that the C3 Aircross will have design resemblance of the C3 hatchback, except the C3 Aircross is going to be much bigger in dimensions like length, width, height, wheelbase, etc.

The C3 Aircross will also have the split LED headlamps, grille, and the taillamps from the C3 hatchback with an upright stance and redesigned rear quarters.

Citroen C3 Aircross – New equipments with Tweaked Interiors!

The C3 Aircross will have tweaked dashboard such as the steering wheel and gear lever taken from the C3 hatchback. However, it might feature a new layout for the infotainment system and possibly digital instrument cluster and have more features over the C3 hatchback like the automatic climate control, rear AC vents, ESC, Hill assist, wireless charging pad, and much more. If it wants to rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, etc. more features needs to be added to give competition.

The C3 Aircross is expected to carry over the 1.2-litre puretech turbo-petrol engine from the C3 hatchback as this engine produces 108.62 bhp and 190 Nm of torque paired to 6-speed Manual Transmission. The 6-speed Automatic Transmission will be launching for the C3 hatchback sometime this year, and it’ll most likely come to the C3 Aircross as well.

An electric version of the Citroen C3 Aircross is also in the works and will launch after some-time, possibly by the end of this year or in 2024.

Citroen C3 Aircross – Two-row and three-row seat layout likely to come!

The Citroen C3 Aircross will likely have two seat layouts – two-row and three row seat layout. With a longer wheelbase and length, Citroen could add three-row seat layout, and it could get captain seats for the middle row passengers. This will be similar to the Hyundai Creta and Alcazar, and MG Hector and Hector Plus. However, it is possible, that they’ll launch the three-row seater C3 Aircross after sometime after the two-row layout launch.

Citroen had already confirmed that it’ll be debuting the new mid-size SUV, C3 Aircross in India on April 27th. On it’s launch, it’ll have competition from the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos. If they undercut the competition by good margins, it could stand a chance to sell better than it’s rivals.
