Tata Motors is busy testing new models for India, with some expected to launch this year. One of them is the Grand Vitara-rival, Tata Curvv, scheduled for a festive season launch. Before its official debut, here’s everything you need to know about this SUV!
Tata Curvv: All Details!
The Tata Curvv, inspired by models like the Nexon and Harrier/Safari, features a distinctive coupe-like roofline, setting it apart from traditional SUVs like the Creta and Seltos. It boasts larger, connected LED DRLs similar to the Nexon and a grille with piano black and body-color finishes, deviating from the previous fully body-colored design. The front bumper includes new LED headlamps, fog lamp housings, and an additional air vent hinting at petrol and diesel variations. The enlarged front air intake and faux silver skid plates at both ends echo the Nexon’s design.

Notable side features include door-mounted wing mirrors and flush door handles, a first for Tata in this segment. The rear sports a dark-tinted LED light bar, connected LED tail-lamps with production-ready elements, and vertically positioned air inlets with additional reflectors. Top trim features confirmed for the Curvv SUV include a 360 Surround View Camera, connected LED DRLs, vertically split LED headlamps, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The interiors resemble the Nexon but with a different cabin theme. The SUV features a free-floating 12.3-inch infotainment system, sleek AC vents, and a touch-sensitive HVAC panel for dual-zone climate control. It also includes a 10.25-inch digital cockpit cluster, a 4-spoke steering wheel borrowed from the new Harrier and Safari, and the same drive mode selector and automatic gear shifter as the Nexon.
Power-train wise, the Curvv will have 3 Options – 1.2 L Turbo Petrol producing 123.29 BHP and 225 NM Torque and its likely gearbox choices would be the 6 Speed Manual, and 7 Speed DCT Gearbox. Second option is the 1.5 L Diesel Engine taken from the Nexon, and will therefore have the same 113.31 BHP Power and 260 NM Torque mated to 6 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox. Lastly, there’s also going to be an EV version as well with battery pack of 45 – 50 kWh with a front axle mounted single motor delivering likely around 150 BHP and 300 NM Torque with expected range between 450 – 500 KMs.
In terms of features, the SUV will be equipped ventilated front seats, Heads-up Display (HUD), Panoramic Sunroof on top, powered driver seat, wireless charging pad, Dual-Zone Climate Control, 360 Surround View Camera, Level 2 ADAS, 6 Airbags as standard, and many other features.
Tata will first launch the electric version during the festive season, i.e. between September and October 2024 with an expected starting price of Rs. 20 Lakhs. Later the ICE version this year, most likely in October – November 2024 at expected starting price of Rs. 11 Lakhs.
