Force Motors teased both 3 and 5-door versions of the Gurkha SUV, with the latter surprising by adopting circular headlamps like its 3-door counterpart. The 5-door model accommodates rear doors, boasting a longer wheelbase of 2825mm, and offering potential seating configurations from five to seven seats.
Force Gurkha Teased: All Details!
Force Motors released a teaser for the 3 and 5-Door version of the Gurkha SUV. Previous spy shots suggested that the Gurkha 5-door variant would feature square headlamps, however, latest teaser reveals that it’ll adopt the same circular units as its 3-door version. Likewise, both versions are expected to share the distinctive two-slat grille with the Gurkha lettering, with little differentiation in their front and rear bumper designs.

From the side if you at the two versions of the SUV, differences emerge as the Gurkha 5-door accommodates rear doors, resulting in a longer wheelbase of 2825mm which is 425 MM more than the 3-door variant. The teaser also showcases new alloy wheels, likely 16 inches in size. Additionally, Force Motors’ released video highlights various accessories such as a rear ladder and roof rack with a jerry can holder.
Interior differences between the two SUVs primarily revolve around seating arrangements. While the Gurkha three-door is strictly a four-seater, the five-door version may offer multiple configurations—ranging from a five-seater to a seven-seater layout; if it does get a third row, the second row could get the captain seats for premium feel.
Spy shots of the Gurkha five-door’s interior reveal a shift-on-the-fly 4WD knob positioned adjacent to the driver’s seat on the center console. In contrast, the three-door variant featured separate front and rear diff-lock levers and a manually operated transfer case located behind the gear lever.
Now moving towards the engine options, it’s likely to continue offering the Mercedes-sourced 2.6 L Diesel Engine producing 90 BHP, 250 NM Torque with a 5 Speed Manual Gearbox. This engine was offer with the 3-door version before the model was discontinued due to BS6 norms. However, it may make a return to 3-door version with same power and torque while on the 5-door version, both power and torque may go up slightly.
The Gurkha 5-door and 3-door will launch in the coming weeks. Both the versions will compete with the Mahindra Thar 3-door which is already on sale, and 5-door set to launch on August 15th. Maruti Jimny will compete against the 5-door Gurkha.
