Jeep has reduced the asking price of the Compass SUV by Rs. 1.7 Lakh which may help the brand attract more buyers. With this price cut, the base “Sport” variant, initially priced at Rs. 20.69 Lakh [ex-showroom] drops down to Rs. 18.99 Lakh. However, other variants – Longitude, Night Eagle, Limited, Black Shark, and Model S; all see price hike of Rs. 14,000.

So, if you compare the new price of Sport and Longitude trim, now priced at Rs. 22.33 Lakh [ex-showroom]; you’ll see the difference of hefty Rs. 3.34 Lakh. This hefty difference was a lot less when no price cut was announced. Notable features with Sport trim are 8.4-inch Infotainment System, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED. Reflector Headlamps, Rear AC, 4 Speakers, and many other features.
Other than that, there are no mechanical changes, and continues to be powered by the 2.0 L 4 Cylinder Diesel engine delivering 167.67 BHP and 350 NM Torque mated to 6 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox with 4×2 and 4×4 Drivetrain options.
Recently, Jeep has re-introduced the X variant of the Meridian. For Rs. 50,000 only, you can accessorise the base Limited (O) trim of the Meridian with puddle lamps, side exterior moulding, programmable ambient lighting, air purifier, sunshades, and Y-shaped Alloy Wheels with Grey Finish. Moreover as optional, you can get the rear seat entertainment unit along with a dash cam.
The facelift of the Meridian is in works and its expected to launch in the second half of 2024 which will see the SUV gain subtle exterior and interior changes, but big feature will be the inclusion of ADAS with Level 2 Functions.
