Honda Upcoming SUV – What you need to know!

Honda Car India released a teaser today that revealed the name of the SUV, and it’s officially going to be called as “ELEVATE” and is expected to be priced between Rs. 12 lakh to Rs. 19 lakh. Honda Elevate will be unveiled globally from India on June 8th, and will be sold in international markets with plans to manufacture around 8,000 units on a monthly basis. Like the other Compact SUVs in India, the Elevate SUV will boast a sporty look as per what was seen in the spy shots. From the front, it has a big rectangular grille with rectangle blocks on it that will be fully blacked out and the bumper will be faux silver skid plate.

Moving to the sides, it has thick body cladding with muscular wheel arches, non-functional roof rails, and the alloy wheels seems to be similar to the Honda City. At the rear, the taillamps looks to be the same as the Second-Gen WR-V sold in Indonesia and other markets. The Elevate SUV is expected to be as long as 4.3 meters with dimensions similar to the Creta and Seltos, except it could have the longest wheelbase in it’s segment. From the inside, the Elevate will boast spacious interiors and a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and could have the 8-speaker Premium surround sound system.

Honda might launch the strong-hybrid variant in India at a later date, possibly later this year or in early 2024.

The demand for the Compact SUV is growing day-by-day, and Honda seems to take part in this as well, and moreover this Elevate SUV will be build on the same platform, Honda City was build on to reduce the production cost.

Honda Car India had this to say after unveiling the name for the SUV, “Developed as a global model, the all-new Elevate is Honda’s brand new mid-size SUV which will have it’s world-premiere in India next month (June 8th). The all-new Elevate represents Honda’s pursuit to introduce a perfect urban SUV appealing to the elevated taste for finer things in life. It symbolizes the aspiration to achieve success and wanting to keep elevating to the next level. Honda Elevate has been developed as a new global model in Honda’s line-up to cater to the robust demand for SUVs worldwide. The new model incorporates people’s lifestyle requirements and their expectations for Honda’s New SUV. India will be the first market to launch the Honda Elevate.”
