Hyundai new SUV – What you need to know!
Hyundai today announced that a new SUV is set to launch for India later this year and will rival the Tata Punch. It is codenamed as Ai3 as it based on the Grand i10 Nios platform, and the design of the new sub-compact SUV is taken from the Hyundai’s Casper model that is available in South Korea. It comes with round-shaped projector headlamps, LED DRLS, and parametric front grille. At the rear, the Ai3 gets parametric tail lights with 17-inch alloys wheels.
On the inside, the Ai3 SUV will have the two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, 8-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, BlueLink connected car tech, a fully digital instrument cluster, front ventilated seats, sunroof, mood lighting, and automatic climate control. In safety, the Ai3 has ABS with EBD, reverse parking camera, and few ADAS features such as lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and blind spot detection.
Engine | 1.2-litre Kappa Petrol |
Power | 81.8 bhp |
Torque | 113.8 Nm |
Transmission | 5-speed MT, 5-speed AT |
Fuel Efficiency | 20.1 km/l |
Since, the Ai3 is based on the i10 Nios platform, it might as well get the same 1.2-litre Kappa Petrol engine that produces 81.8 bhp and 113.8 Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed Manual Transmission and 5-speed Automatic Transmission or as Hyundai likes to call it, “Smart Auto.” It could also have fuel efficiency around the 20.1 km/l as well.
We have no idea in which month of this year is the Ai3 is going to launch, and what’s its price going to be, but what we know is that once, it launches in India, it’ll rival the Tata Punch for sure.
