Hyundai Aura was unveiled back in December 2019 and ready to enter in a highly contested sub compact sedan segment and looks to replicate the success of Grand i10 NIOS in its segment.
Ahead of its launch, Aura’s interiors have been revealed.The interiors looks similar to that of Grand i10 NIOS but the difference being the cabin theme being used.In Grand i10 NIOS, Hyundai India has provided black and beige dual tone cabin theme while for Aura, the theme is still dual tone but it gets beige and brown colours for the dashboard, seats and the interiors.
Talking about exterior looks and design, upfront it features projector headlamps with the work of chrome, Hyundai’s signature cascading grille with Hyundai’s N line shaped LED DRLs, projector fog lamps.Sharper creases flows along the bonnet as well as side of the sedan.It rides on 15 inch diamond cut alloys.The door handles on the outside are in chrome while the rear gets Z-shaped tail lamps.
Top Features of the upcoming compact sedan by Hyundai includes 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay, android auto, navigation, semi digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control with eco coating, wireless charging, leather wrapped gear knob.Top safety equipments in offer are dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, projector fog lamps, rear parking sensors and camera, among others.
The new sub compact sedan comes in variety of engine options – 2 petrol, 1 petrol-cng and 1 Diesel engine options.All these units are BS-VI compliant right from the day of launch.The 1.2 litre petrol engine makes 83 PS of power and 114 NM of torque while the 1.0 L GDI turbo 3 cylinder petrol produces 100 PS and 172 NM and the sole diesel unit makes 75 PS and 190 NM of torque.The 1.2 L petrol engine gets the option of CNG but with slightly less output figures.Except for the CNG and the 1.0 L turbo trim, all the other variants will be offered with 5 speed manual and 5 speed AMT option.
Aura will be offered in a total of 5 variants starting from the base E model to the top end trims, SX Optional boasting couple of best in segment features.CNG will be offered in S trim while turbo petrol with manual gearbox will remain limited to SX+ model.
There will be a total of 6 colours to choose from.The list includes Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Fiery Red, Alpha Blue and Vintage Brown.While the 1.0 L turbo petrol can be had only in three colour schemes – Polar White, Typhoon Silver and Fiery Red.
Like the Grand i10 NIOS, Hyundai Aura would also be offered in variable warranty options but for Aura, Hyundai calls it ‘Wonder Warranty’ where the customers gets the option to choose either 3 years and 1,00,000 kms warranty, 4 years and 50,000 kms warranty or 5 years and 40,000 kms warranty, depending upon the driving pattern and along with this, Hyundai also offers road side assistance.
The official launch of the upcoming sedan will take in India on January 21.Bookings are open at a token amount of Rs. 10,000.It is expected to be priced between Rs. 6 Lakhs and Rs. 9 Lakhs (Ex Showroom)/When launched, it will directly compete with the likes of a number of rivals including Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire and soon to be updated Tata Tigor.
