At the New York International Auto Show, Hyundai Ioniq 6 was crowned as the World Car of the Year 2023 twice in a row.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 WCA 2023 – What you should know!

In 2022 last year, Hyundai Ioniq 5 won the World Car of the Year 2022 and then the Ioniq 6 was crowned as the World Car of the Year 2023 at the New York International Auto Show. It also won the World Electric Vehicle and World Car Design of the Year 2023 awards. This is the second consecutive time Hyundai has won three awards as last year it won the same three awards with the Ioniq 5.

The Executive Vice President, Head of Hyundai and Genesis Global Design Center, SangYup Lee, won the World Car Person of the Year 2023. The Lucid Air was crowned as the World Luxury Car of the Year 2023 beating the BMW i7 by just 8 points as the Lucid got 797 points. Kia EV6 GT won the World Performance Car of the Year 2023, and the Citroen C3 was announced as the winner of the World Urban Car of the Year 2023.

You must be wondering how the winners were selected? All the WCA 2023 winners were selected by Jury of 100 automotive journalists from 32 countries. There is no official word as to when the Hyundai’s Ioniq 6 will launch in India taking note of the fact that Ioniq 5 launched in India at the Auto Expo 2023 at Rs. 45.95 lakh for the only one rear-wheel-drive variant.

Hyundai yesterday revealed that it will be launching a new sub-compact SUV in India later this year codenamed as Ai3 which will rival the Tata’s Punch.
