Hyundai Venue was recently launched by the car makers in India.It became the first connected car of India and is taking the compact SUV segment by a storm.Within two months from launch, it was toppled the compact SUV king Vitara Brezza to take the No. 1 spot.
The most recent introduction by Hyundai Motors India Limited is pure electric SUV, Kona which managed to grab 120 bookings in just 10 days which is a great start for an electric car in India.It has also received a price reduction by more than Rs. 1.5 Lakhs post GST reduction from 12% to 5% on electric cars.In the month of July, a total of 17 units were sold.
Next up comes Hyundai Tucson which is currently the flagship SUV for the carmakers as well.Its sales have declined overtime which just only 47 Tucson being retailed by the carmakers in India in the month of July 2019.
Hyundai have three sedans in their lineup and the luxurious and feature loaded of all of them is Elantra.Only 54 units of Elantra were sold in India in this month.It is also due for a generation upgrade which will surely give a boost to the overall sales of the premium executive sedan.
Hyundai XCent has managed to grab sales of 1430 in July 2019.Although it averages at around 2500 units per month.It comes available with both petrol and diesel powertrains and rivals the likes of Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo, Tata Tigor and Ford Aspire.The new generation with BS-VI engines will be coming to India in the second half of 2020.
Next up comes Hyundai Verna.It competes vs Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, Skoda Rapid, VW Vento and Toyota Yaris.It was the bestseller two months back and now it has managed to get sales of 1890.It is offered with a variety of engine options including 1.4 L petrol and diesel options along with powerful 1.6 engines with automatic option as well.
Hyundai Grand i10 has won the Indian Car of the Year Award and a new version of Grand i10 is also coming to India in August 2019.In July, a total of 5,081 units were sold.It is offered with 1.2 L petrol and Diesel engine and likely to get some class leading features in its new generation variant.
Next up comes the legendary hatchback which has received a generation update in October last year and has witnessed an overall decline in sales since the past few months.It comes with two engine options along with CNG model as well.Santro recently got a variant shuffle as well.A total of 5,309 units of Santro were retailed in July 2019.
Hyundai Creta have also a got sales down in past couple of months.With average of 9000 units per months, the sales of Creta have declined to 6,585 units in July 2019.It also got sports edition as well and comes available in quite a few engine options and is decently loaded as well.It will getting first ever perfect rival in the form of Kia Seltos which is off to a great start.New Creta is also slated to launch in India in March 2020 and will be showcased at Auto Expo 2020.
The second highest selling car for Hyundai in the month of July 2019 is Elite i20.Being the 2015 Indian Car of the Year, it has made to the top 10 selling car list nearly every time.In the same month, 9012 were sold.It is one of the most premium looking car and features very plush interiors as well.It comes with BS-IV engine options and is likely to receive new generation variant in second half of next year,
Now comes the new highest selling Hyundai car of India.The new sub compact SUV king, Hyundai Venue, is the top selling Hyundai car for the month of July 2019.It has toppled all its rivals including Vitara Brezza, XUV300, WR-V, Ecosport and Nexon to take that spot.It has grabbed sales of 9,585 units in this month.There are a number of reasons why Venue is selling in huge numbers.One big reason being Blue Link along with DCT automatic option in turbo petrol among others.
Overall, if we sum up, then a total of 39,010 Hyundai Cars were sold in July 2019 which means a decline by 10% from July 2018 where a total of 43,481 units were retailed.But the sales of Hyundai Cars are expected to go up as Hyundai has also new Grand i10 slated fro this month’s launch which will surely attract sales along with great going Hyundai Venue and Kona EV.
