The Hyundai Creta played a significant role in boosting the company’s SUV sales, with the newly launched model in January 2024 achieving a record high of 17,350 units sold domestically in July 2024. However, Hyundai Motors saw a 3.33% year-over-year decrease in domestic sales for July 2024, totaling 49,013 units, which is 1,688 units fewer than the 50,701 units sold in July 2023, and also marking a 2.18% month-over-month decrease from the 50,103 units sold in June 2024

Export are also on declined, showing a 3.13% drop year-over-year to 15,500 units, down from 16,000 units in July 2023, and month-on-month wise, it’s actually gone up to 5.44% with 800 units more exports.

During the first seven months of 2024, Hyundai experienced consistent demand both domestically and internationally, driven by its varied vehicle lineup. The new Hyundai Creta, launched earlier this year, was particularly successful, with July sales reaching 17,350 units and total sales surpassing 100,000 units for the month. Year-to-date domestic sales increased by 3.48% to 358,785 units, while exports grew by 7.68% to 91,500 units compared to the same period in 2023.
Here’s what Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL said, “We have posted an overall sales growth of 4.31% Year-on-Year in the period of January to July 2024. SUVs continue to demonstrate a robust contribution, accounting for 66.6% of total HMIL domestic sales. The new Hyundai CRETA achieved key milestones of 1 Lakh unit sales till July 2024, while also achieving highest ever monthly domestic sales of 17,350 units in July 2024.”
Hyundai Motors is set to launch two new SUVs: the Alcazar Facelift and the Creta EV. The updated Alcazar will feature significant upgrades, bringing it closer to competitors like the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and MG Hector Plus. Its revamped exterior and interior are designed to attract consumers with premium offerings. The Creta EV, equipped with the Kona EV’s battery, is expected to offer a range of over 500 kilometers and may include additional features beyond those of the internal combustion engine (ICE) version, providing buyers with an appealing alternative.
