In July 2024, the Indian automotive market saw Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki leading the top 10 best-selling cars. The Hyundai Creta topped the charts with 17,350 units sold, marking a 23.38% year-on-year (Y-o-Y) growth. Following closely, Maruti Suzuki’s Swift secured the second position with 16,854 units sold, despite a 5.82% decline compared to July 2023. The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R showcased a robust 24.83% Y-o-Y growth with 16,191 units sold, reaffirming its appeal in the hatchback market.

However, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza saw a slight dip with 14,676 units sold, a decline of 11.28%, but it still held a significant position in the compact SUV segment. Tata’s Nexon continued its positive trajectory with a 12.57% Y-o-Y growth, recording 13,902 units sold, reflecting the brand’s growing influence in the SUV market.
Mahindra’s Scorpio, known for its rugged appeal, recorded a 16.29% growth in sales, with 12,237 units sold, further solidifying its status in the SUV category. The Maruti Suzuki Eeco, though it experienced a slight 1.05% decline, still managed to sell 11,916 units, remaining a reliable choice in the van segment due to its practicality. Finally, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, despite a 13.04% drop in sales, continued to be the top-selling sedan in India with 11,647 units sold, proving its enduring appeal in the market.
