Hyundai Motors has launched the Creta Facelift for the Indian Market with the SUV getting numerous changes from the inside and outside, and some new features as well. So, we thought of comparing the facelift against one of its rival, the Maruti Grand Vitara to see how better is the Creta in comparison to Maruti’s SUV.
Hyundai Creta Facelift vs Maruti Grand Vitara – Design
The new Creta Facelift comes with new robust. exterior design like the new radiator grille, upright hood contributing towards the strong, assertive and distinct road presence, connected Sequential LED DRLs, below that is the split unit vertical Quad-Beam LED headlamp with cube-like detailing, and skid plates as bumpers. The side profile features 17-inch alloy wheel with 5-spoke curvy design, integrated roof rails, and chrome door handles. The rear section now gets new dual L-shape connected taillamps, rear spoiler, shark fin antenna, and hidden wiper with washer.
Jumping to the inside, the Facelift comes with seamlessly integrated 10.25-inch dual displays – one for infotainment system, and one for fully digital instrument cluster. Below the dual displays is the panel to control infotainment system, and dual-zone climate control. The centre console has been tweaked to make it look a little luxurious, then there is illuminated buttons around gear lever for ventilated seats, rotary dial for drives and traction modes; parking camera, two cupholders behind lever, and fixed armrest.
The dashboard has been redesigned with thin AC vents, and dual-tone theme. The rear section is split in 60:40 ratio with center armrest, and 2-step reclining option, ambient lights around the cabin, panoramic sunroof on top, and the SUV gets 8 Speaker Bose Premium Sound System. Moreover, the boot space of 433 L is the same as before, and other changes inside the cabin include lighter colours and copper details.
The Grand Vitara from the outside has a bold look. At the front, it has tri-cube signature NEXA LED DRLs, and below that is square-shaped LED headlamps. The front grille is huge with curvy ‘n’ pattern and chrome around the grille. The bumpers are made of faux skid plate, and bonnet features cuts and creases enhancing its bold appeal. The side profile has creases, thin wheel arches, 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome on window beltline, and non-functional grey-coloured roof rails. Moving to the rear, the LED taillamps looks similar to the Jeep Meridian, yet they aren’t connected taillamps and its because of the Suzuki logo between them. There is C-shape protrusion with reverse and indicator lamp, and straight line creases.
The Grand Vitara on the inside, features a 9-inch infotainment system placed above the AC vents and the AC vents at the sides are positioned horizontally. It has the dual-tone dashboard theme option as well as leather seat upholstery. The Grand Vitara has a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster although the image you’re seeing has Analog instrument cluster which is available in all the variants except the top variant. The Grand Vitara has two USB ports at the front and rear, buttons for ventilated seats, driver mode, and EV mode. The Grand Vitara also has a Heads-up Display top of the instrument cluster. At the rear, the seats are split in 60:40 ratio and it has a 6-speaker Arkamy’s sound system.
So, from the outside, and the inside, the Hyundai Creta looks absolutely incredible and spacious with luxurious looking interiors while the Grand Vitara looks good as well.

The Maruti Grand Vitara on the other hand measures 4345 MM in length which is longer by 15 MM, width of 1795 MM which is wider by just 5 MM, and height of 1645 MM which is taller by 10 MM. The Creta Facelift has a wheelbase of 2610 MM, and Ground Clearance of 190 MM while the Grand Vitara has a slightly shorter wheelbase of 2600 MM (10 MM Shorter), and Ground Clearance of 208 MM that is 18 MM higher. In Engine Options, the Creta comes with a Diesel Powertrain which Maruti doesn’t offer with the Grand Vitara. Anyway, the Hyundai Creta Facelift is powered by the 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Diesel generating 113.45 BHP and 250 NM of torque mated to 6 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox.

Both the SUVs are offered with a non-turbo petrol engine. The Hyundai Creta Facelift also comes with the 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Petrol Engine producing 113.18 BHP and 143.8 NM of torque mated to the 6 Speed Manual and 7 Speed IVT Gearbox. The Maruti Grand Vitara on the other hand is powered by the 1.5 L 4 Cylinder petrol engine that pumps out 101.64 BHP and 145 NM of torque paired to 5 Speed Manual Gearbox with 21.11 KMPL Mileage and an 6 Speed Automatic Gearbox with 20.58 KMPL mileage.

In the end, the decision to buy which SUV depend totally on you, however, if you’re looking for an SUV that is affordable, big in size, luxurious interiors, comfy seats, tons of features, and great engine performance and fuel efficiency, then the Hyundai Creta Facelift is a right choice. The Maruti Grand Vitara on the other hand is good in size and shape, great fuel efficiency, almost the same features as Creta, and very reliable as well. So, what is it going to be?
