Hyundai Kona is the recent launch by the car makers in India.Launched on July 9, 2019, Kona is the first electric SUV of India.We have a few electric cars running in India and with Kona being becoming popular within very less time is surely inviting a number of car makers towards the future of mobility.

Hyundai Kona has been launched at a introductory price of Rs. 25.3 Lakhs (Ex Showroom).It comes available in just a single variant and if you want to purchase the dual tone variant, it costs Rs. 20,000 than the standard single tone trim.The price will come down by Rs. 1.5 Lakhs as government has announced GST reduction from 12% to 5%.
Most of the customers were concerned about the charging infrastructure and the government of India is taking concerned steps to quickly shift to electrified vehicles.Also Hyundai is also proving a portable charger as well as and AC wall box charger along with the SUV.While the AC wall charger can juice up the battery to 100% in 6 hours and 50 KWh charger can do the same in just 57 minutes.
Also, Hyundai India has partnered with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to setup electric charging stations in selected fuel pumps in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru, which would further boost up the sales of the electric car.Hyundai Kona will be sold in 11 cities by 15 dealers and some selected dealerships will also have charging stations as well.
Hyundai Kona gets a 39.2 KWh advanced lithium ion battery on which Hyundai is offering 8 years and 1,60,000 kms of warranty along with 3 years and unlimited kms warranty for the car which ensures complete peace of mind.
Kona gets a very futuristic design.Upfront, it gets LED DRLs at the top, enclosed front grille with also charging port, bi-functional LED headlamps with cornering lamp and positioning lamp.It gets very stylish 17 inch alloys and LED tail lamps.
Its cabin is rich and refreshing.At the centre, sits 8 inch infotainment system, metal finish on certain elements, all black interior theme with leather upholstery.Overall, it is a very sporty and premium interiors.

Hyundai Kona is the first electric car by the car makers for India.They have plans to introduce a number of them in next 2-3 years and have about Rs. 2000 Crore investment as they are bringing their another electric vehicle priced under Rs. 10 Lakhs.
Currently, Hyundai Kona has no direct rival but Morris Garages will be launching they eZS electric SUV in the price bracket of Rs. 20 L – Rs. 25 L which will directly compete vs Kona.Also Maruti Ertiga will also get a electrified variant some where 2020-21 which will be placed nearing the same price tag.
