Hyundai Motors reports the sales figures for April 2024, and it’s total sales were 63,551 units over the last year with growth in domestic sales and exports.

Hyundai Motors in May sold 49,151 units domestically which includes sales from models from their portfolio like Creta, i20, Grand i10 Nios, Exter, Verna, Venue, Alcazar, Tucson, and Ioniq 5. Among these sales, Creta, Venue, and Exter are the SUVs that are contributing the most which is 67% of the total sales of Hyundai which makes sense, given the demand is high for these vehicles.

Anyway, if you compare the May sales to last year same period which were 48,601 units, it reports YoY growth by 1.13% with 550 Units Volume Growth. On comparison to April 2024 sales which were 50,201 units, it reports decline in MoM growth by 2.1%. On the other hand, exports were 14,400 units in May which is up from last year by 31% with 3,400 units volume growth, and MoM growth is by 6.67% with 900 units growth.

So, the cumulative sales are 63,551 units which is a YoY growth by 6.63% compared to 59,601 units while the MoM sales are down by 0.23% over April’s 63,701 units.
On May 2024 Sales, Mr. Tarun Garg, had this to comment, “We’ve maintained a healthy total sales volumes in May 2024, despite a week-long routine bi-annual maintenance shutdown at out Sriperumbudur factory. SUVs continue to be a growth driver for HMIL, accounting for more than 67% of domestic sales last month. Our rural penetration stood at a healthy 20.1% in May.”
Recently, Hyundai set up a new 180 kW DC Charging Station in Chennai which its electric SUVs, IONIQ 5 and Kona EV can take full advantage. The brand has got 2 SUVs to launch later this year – Hyundai Alcazar Facelift scheduled for festive season launch, and the Tucson Facelift launch by the year end.
