Hyundai Venue Launch Date, Price, Interior, Images, Features and Specifications

The sub compact SUV segment will be heated up with the launch of Hyundai Venue.

Hyundai has been dominating the SUV segment with its Creta car.It has been undisputedly destroying the SUVs in its segment and grabbing sales in large numbers.We all know that SUVs are very popular whether its sub compact or full sized SUV.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford Ecosport, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Honda WRV, all these have been accounting for a large sales number.Hyundai wants to do a Creta thing with its upcoming Venue SUV.Venue which was earlier known by the name Styx/QXi has got a finalised name.

Hyundai has also teased Venue a number of times testing on different terrains and is has been spotted undisguised on the interior as well as exterior fronts.

VENUE Exterior

The design of the SUV is very distinctive and unique.It sports cascading design front grille with chrome inserts which is quite big in size.At the top, are the sleek lights which will act as turn indicators similar to Harrier.As you move a bit lower, you will get projector headlamps setup which has been surrounded by square type LED DRLs.

Front and rear bumpers features faux skid plates while the side view looks very similar to Creta and looks big in size compared to other sub compact SUVs.At the rear are the LED tail lamps and ‘Venue’ logo embedded below the Hyundai logo.

VENUE Interior

Hyundai keeps different cabins for all its cars.For Venue, Hyundai will be keeping an all black sporty interiors.Elements used inside will not be shared from any other Hyundai vehicle which is really appreciable.The placement of the music system, automatic ac unit style as well as inserts and stitching has been very unique.

The design of the steering wheel will be similar to Creta with a nicely setup floating infotainment touchscreen system with all the modern connectivity including Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Mirror Link.It will also display rear camera and sensors.

Automatic air-con design looks similar to that of Swift.Cooled glovebox will be there along with a number of storage spaces.No doubt fit and finish quality of Hyundai cars have always been top notch and this car will be no different.Leather seats will be for the top end variants which will offer good support all around.

Talking about dimensions, it will be kept under 4-metres.It will be wide enough and would have sufficient space for the rear passengers.Tyre size is 16-inch while the ground clearance will be around 195 mm.Bootspace of the SUV will be around 350 litres.

VENUE Variants

Hyundai Venue will have variant lineup similar to that of Creta, XCent and Verna.The lineup will begin from base E model and go upto SX(O) trim.All these variants will be available in 1.4-litre petrol and Diesel engine options while the 1.0 L petrol automatic will only be reserved for the top model and will get all the features.

VENUE Colours

Paint jobs of Elite i20 and Creta will be seen on Venue SUV.It will also get dual tone colour schemes for certain variants as well.

VENUE Engine options

A variety of engine options will be on offer for Venue.It will get a total of two petrol units and one diesel.

First one is the 1.0 L turbocharged petrol engine mated to dual clutch automatic transmission.It churns out 110 BHP of power and 170 NM of maximum torque.It will rival Ford’s EcoBoost engine and will be very fuel efficient.

The second petrol one is the 1368 cc 1.4 L unit which is also seen on the Verna sedan.It makes 99 BHP of power and 132 NM of peak torque.The claimed fuel economy will be around 18.5 kmpl.It will draw power from 6 speed manual transmission unit.

Diesel unit is the one seen on Elite i20, Verna and Creta producing 89 BHP of maximum power and 220 NM of peak torque.This engine is very efficient both in terms of mileage and performance.The expected fuel economy is 23 kmpl.In city, it would easily return about 17-18 kmpl.It will be paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

VENUE Infotainment and Technology

A bigger and more feature loaded modern infotainment system will be on offer for Venue.It will be a 8-inch setup with support of Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link.Hyundai Venue will be India’s first connected car and will be loaded with modern technology.It also comes with Hyundai’s Blue Link connectivity which includes 33 features, out of which are 10 are designed specifically for India.

This Blue Link connectivity makes use of eSIM that integrates with Vodafone network.Hyundai will offer 2-year subscription on Venue of Blue Link which the owners can renew after its completion on an annual basis.After Venue, Hyundai will also introduce this useful feature across its range.

For the Blue Link variants, Hyundai will offer a smart inside rear view mirror that will house three buttons, including, RSA, SOS and Blue Link which will help to contact emergency services, send panic notifications to phones chosen by the user along with providing vehicle information and location.

Hyundai Blue Link technology is compatible with Android, iOS, Alexa and Google Assistant.It also provides real time traffic and live local search.With Blue Link, you will also be able to remotely turn on/off engine, climate control and as well as unlock and door lock along with remotely operating horn and light.Blue link also features cloud based voice recognition, which has been developed in such a way so that it can easily understand different local accents for English language.

In terms of pricing, it will rival directly rival Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300.Expected price of Hyundai Venue will be between Rs. 7.5 Lakhs and Rs. 12.5 Lakhs (Ex-showroom).Since it will be offered in a variety of engine options, it will have a wide price bracket.The top end variant will cost around Rs. 13.5 Lakhs, On Road.

VENUE Launch date

Hyundai Venue will be unveiled on April 17 at New York International Auto Show as well as in India.The launch date of upcoming Hyundai sub compact SUV is May 21,2019.After updating a number of cars, it will be the first launch of the year for Hyundai.

After this, they also have new Grand i10 and Kona electric which are expected to be introduced in the later half of 2019.
