Kia has unveiled the exterior design of the India-bound Carnival MPV, and it gets EV9-like design. While we have no look at the interiors, we expect to undergo big changes as well.
Kia unveiled the Carnival facelift’s exterior design and as seen from the recent spy shots, it aligns with the expected design language. This updated MPV showcases a notable departure from its pre-facelift version, the KA4 MPV. It presents a more upright front profile characterised by a broad grille and L-shaped headlights adorned with daytime running lamps. The grille features chrome bits, while the lower part of the bumper incorporates a small air intake, encircled by a faux brushed aluminum skid plate.
This L-shaped design theme extends to the rear of the vehicle, where the tail-lamps are connected by an LED light bar. The rear bumper exhibits a combination of matte black and chrome elements. Notably, the alloy wheel design takes cues from the latest Kia models, particularly those in the EV lineup, such as the EV5 and EV9 SUVs.
Talking about the interiors, we’ve at the moment no details on how it’s going to look, but it’s being said that it’ll feature multiple seating layouts with higher variants getting multiple sunroofs.
The Carnival Facelift will get EV9-like seats, and it could also get some new features like curved dual displays which will more driver focused, new features for ADAS, and much more. As for the engine options, globally, it is offered with the 1.6 L Turbo Petrol Hybrid Engine along with the 3.5 L naturally-aspirated V6 Petrol, and 2.2 L 4 Cylinder Diesel Engine. In India, expect the 2.2 L Diesel Engine to be offered, while it’s possible Kia could replace the V6 Engine in India with the 2.0 L Turbo Petrol Engine.
We expect more details about the India-bound Carnival to be made available soon, as at the moment, they’re busy testing the Sonet Facelift which is expected for launch later this year, or in early 2024.
