India-bound Renault Duster or as in some european countries, it’s known as the Dacia Duster, and it was crash tested at the Euro NCAP, and received 3 Stars Safety Rating. The Euro-spec Duster was equipped with 6 Airbags along with ADAS Features.
Adult Occupant Protection:In the frontal offset test, the Duster’s passenger compartment remained stable, providing good knee and femur protection for both driver and passenger. However, the driver’s chest protection was weak. In the full-width rigid barrier test, chest protection was marginal for both the driver and rear passenger. The side barrier and side pole impact tests showed good protection for all critical areas, earning maximum points. Front seats and head restraints effectively protected against whiplash in rear-end collisions.

Child Occupant Protection:The Duster offered good protection for the critical body areas of both 6-year-old and 10-year-old dummies in frontal offset and side barrier tests, except for the 10-year-old’s neck in the frontal test, which received adequate protection. The front passenger airbag can be disabled for rearward-facing child restraints, but there is no child presence detection system. All designated child restraint types fit properly.
Safety Assist Systems:The AEB system performed adequately with other vehicles. The rear seat belt reminder lacked an occupant detection system, disqualifying it from scoring. The lane support system effectively corrects lane drifting and intervenes in critical situations.
Vulnerable Road Users:The Duster provided good or adequate head protection for pedestrians and cyclists, but poor protection along the windscreen pillars and base. Pelvic protection was poor in all test areas, scoring zero points. The AEB system responded adequately to pedestrians and well to cyclists.
