Kia Carnival Variants Explained with Features, Interior and Seating Options

Kia’s next car for India will be a MPV which will rival the likes of Toyota Innova Crysta albeit there will quite a price difference.But to justify this premium price tag, Carnival will be much better loaded in every aspect.

The Carnival MPV will be offered in a variety of seating configurations including 7, 8 and 9 seating options with captain seats offered for 7 and 9 seater trims while bringing in an extra 4th row for 9 seater variant where the 2nd and 3rd seats will be the captain ones.

There will be total of 3 variants on offer.The lineup will start from the base Premium trim, Prestige being the second or the middle variant of the range and Limousine of course the top spec fully loaded model of the premium MPV.

Kia Carnival Premium

The base model of Kia Carnival, Premium, comes in the option of 7 and 8 seating while misses out on the 9 seating configuration.

Features

Touchscreen infotainment system with android auto, Apple CarPlay, 4 speakers and 2 tweeters, steering mounted audio controls, smart key with push start stop button, cruise control, tilt and telescopic adjustment for steering unit, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirror, 18 inch crystal cut alloys among others.

Safety 

Reverse parking camera, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear disc brakes.

Kia Carnival Prestige

The middle trim of Kia Carnival is highly loaded and comes in two seating options – 7 and 9 and misses out on the non captain seats – 8 seater variant.

LED Projector headlamps, LED fog lamps, LED tail lights, powered tailgate, power folding ORVMs, dual pane electric sunroof and pop up sinking seats.

Safety

6 airbags, electronic stability programme, roll over mitigation, cornering brake control and front parking sensors. 

Kia Carnival Limousine

Known by the name Limousine, the variant will be top spec highly loaded trim of the Carnival MPV.It will only be offered with 7 seater option missing out on 8 and 4 rows 9 seating setup.

Nappa leather seat upholstery, leather wrapped steering wheel, leather wrapped gear knob, wooden garnish, 18 inch sputtering designed alloy wheel, in built navigation, UVO connect technology, three zone automatic climate control, power sliding 2nd row door, Harman Kardon 8 speaker sound setup, smart air purifier, 10 way powered driver seat with ventilation, electronic parking brake, wireless phone charger, smartwatch connectivity, and two 2nd row 10.1 inch entertainment screens.

Tyre pressure monitoring system(TPMS)

Kia Carnival will rival the likes of Innova Crysta however due to marginal price difference, the base trims of Carnival will fall in the category of the top end trims of Toyota Innova Crysta.The Korean MPV will be offered with a single Diesel engine unit which will be a 2.2 L VGT BS6 compliant motor generating 200 PS @ 3800 RPM. And 440 NM @ 1500 – 2750 RPM.It draws power from 8 speed Sportsmatic automatic transmission unit.

It will be offered in a total of three monotone exterior colour themes – Aura Black Pearl, Glacier White Pearl and Steel Silver.The base Premium variant of the luxury MPV will start at around Rs. 26 Lakhs with the range topping trim costing around Rs. 30 Lakhs (Ex Showroom).Unofficial bookings are already underway and the second car for India by the carmakers is expected to be launched in India on February 5.
