Kia India reported sales of 19,500 units last month with a 3.91% YoY growth. The Sonet was the top-selling model for Kia with 7,433 units sold in May 2024, despite a 9.91% YoY decline from 8,251 units in May 2023, and 5.92% MoM in April 2024, which translates to a volume decrease of 818 units YoY, and 468 units MoM respectively.

The Seltos ranked at 2nd position with a substantial YoY growth of 65.71%, reaching 6,736 units sold last month, which is an increase of 2,671 units from 4,065 units it did last year same period. On comparison with April 2024, it reports slight MoM growth of 0.03% which translates to 2 units growth from the 6,734 units. Recently, the Seltos was updated and now from the HTK+ trim you get panoramic sunroof which is indeed a good news for Indian consumers who want to opt for lower trims but with big sunroof. Moreover, they’ve added new connected car features for the Seltos taking total number of features to 65+.

Sales of the Kia Carens dropped sharply by 16.51% YoY to 5,316 units in May 2024, down from 6,367 units in May 2023. Even when compared to last month, it was just shy of 12 units to report positive growth for their premium MPV. This decline could be due to consumers awaiting the new Carens facelift, which promises several exterior updates, enhanced cabin comforts, a panoramic sunroof, and the potential to become the first MPV equipped with ADAS safety features.
The Kia EV6 also saw a significant drop in demand, with sales plummeting 81.63% YoY to just 15 units; but it reports MoM growth by 200% which translates to 10 units volume growth.
