Kia India earlier this year had hiked the price across its 3 models line-up, and its going to do it again which will be applicable from 1st October, and it’ll be hiked by 2% for the Seltos, and 5% for the Carens.
In July, Kia had launched the facelift update of Seltos, and since then the Seltos has been generating pretty good response with over 50,000 bookings in just two months since launch, and its all thanks to the big changes and additions Kia made to the SUV like introducing Level 2 ADAS, dual 10.25-inch display, dual-zone climate control, connected LED tail lamps, and so much more. The new Seltos was priced at Rs. 10.89 – Rs. 19.99 Lakh.
As for the Carens, Kia had increased the price of the MUV back in March 2023 by Rs. 50,000. With the festive season around the corner, its common when brands offers big discounts on certain models to increase the sales, but at the same time, some brands increase the prices, and this could be due to rise in production cost. Sales of the Kia Sonet have been declining month-by-month which resulted in the Carens taking the second spot as the best car for Kia.
The price increase of Kia Carens will be upto 5%, and depending on the variant, expect the hiked price to be in the range of Rs. 20,000 – Rs. 50,000. The Kia Carens was developed to dominate the MUV segment that is currently being led by Maruti Ertiga, one of its rivals. Other rivals include Hyundai Alcazar, Maruti XL6, Toyota Innova Crysta, and HyCross. The case is the same for the Seltos with price hike by 2% and expect the hike in the range of Rs. 20,000 – Rs. 40,000, and this hike is also applicable to the recently launched two new variants – GTX+ (S), and X-Line+ (S).
These two variants were launch to reduce the waiting period of the SUV be cutting features like replacing 8 Speaker Bose Sound system with 6 Speaker sound system, and 360 Degree Camera replaced with Reverse Parking Camera. These price hike for Seltos and Carens will be applicable from October 1st, 2023.
