In just few weeks Kia will be launching the Kia Seltos facelift in India and will add a host of new features with few changes in the exterior and interior of the SUV. Let’s see the 5 things that are definitely happening –

Design Changes

Kia has updated the front tiger grille of the new Seltos with LED DRLs running on it, the split LED headlight looks sleeker and sharper, and the front and rear bumpers are tough due to the silver faux skid plates. The side profile of the Seltos remains the same but will get new sets of alloy wheels. The rear profile of the Seltos gets major update as the taillight has been inspired from the Carens MPV in India. Recently, the Seltos was spotted with sequential indicators as well. From the inside, the Seltos facelift will get the panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch dual screen display, one will be infotainment system and the other will be the instrument cluster, and redesigned AC vents.

Kia Seltos has three engines on offer, one petrol and two diesel engine. The 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque paired to 6-speed Manual Transmission and 7-step IVT Transmission (or CVT) with fuel efficiency of 16.8 km/l. The other is the 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 113 bhp and 250 Nm of torque paired to 6-speed iMT Transmission and 6-speed torque converter Automatic Transmission with fuel efficiency of 20.8 km/l for the iMT and 18 km/l for the Automatic. The second diesel engine is the same but the displacement of the engine is different. Kia had launched the diesel iMT for the Seltos, and other models as well.

Kia might also introduce a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine for the new Seltos to comply with the RDE and E20 norms. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine produces 157 bhp and 253 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed Manual Transmission and 7-speed DCT Transmission.

ADAS Tech

Kia is all set to introduce ADAS in Seltos as the ADAS tech is now being adapted by many carmakers slowly and are trying to bring to affordable models. The Kia Seltos will be the third mid-size SUV after MG Hector and Mahindra XUV700 to introduce ADAS. It’ll have features such as Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Forward Collision Detection, Auto High Beam Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Rear Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, and many more. 

Features

The Facelift Seltos 2023 will already have features such as the automatic climate control, height adjustable driver seat, parking sensors front and rear, cruise control, rear AC vents, Kia’s connected car tech, ventilated seats, air purifier, leather seats, dual-theme interiors, and 8-speaker BOSE sound system. In safety, it has six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, traction controls, VSC, TPMS, automatic headlamps, hill start assist, Heads-up Display, and 360-degree camera. Many more features will be introduced by Kia during the launch.

Price and Launch

The Current Kia Seltos starts at Rs. 10.89 lakh for the base variant HTE petrol and goes all the way up to Rs. 19.65 lakh for the X-Line Diesel Automatic Variant. The Kia Seltos 2023 facelift is expected to price it above Rs. 11 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia will be launching the 2023 Seltos facelift in July/August 2023 and will rival the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
