Kia India launched two new additional variants for the recently launched Seltos Facelift – GTX+ (S), and X-Line (S) priced at Rs. 19.39 L and Rs. 19.59 L (ex-showroom) respectively.

Kia Seltos New Variants Launched – Why did Kia launch these variants?

The recent facelift launch of Kia Seltos has been generating significant interest lately, with bookings recently surpassing the 50,000 mark in just two months. Consequently, the waiting period has increased to approximately four months. One of the reasons the waiting period is increasing is because of the constant supply chain constraints of equipment’s. So, to cater this issue, Kia launch added two new variants – GTX+ (S) and X-Line (S) at slightly lesser price and at loss of two features – 360 Surround View Camera, and 8 Speaker Bose Premium Sound System offered for the top variants.

The new variants will instead come equipped with a 6 Speaker Sound System and Reverse-Parking Camera. However, Kia continues to provide features like ADAS, dual 10.25-inch displays, 18-inch Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels, and an electric parking brake with auto hold. Kia India has indicated that the waiting period for the GTX+ (S) and X-Line (S) should come down to approximately two months.

The GTX+ (S) and the X-Line (S) trims will be available with the 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Turbo Petrol Engine that generates 157.81 BHP and 253 NM of torque mated to the 7 Speed DCT Gearbox or the 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Diesel engine producing 113.42 BHP and 250 NM of torque mated to the 6 Speed Torque Converter Automatic Gearbox.

In the Indian Market, Kia Seltos competes with the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Citroen C3 Aircross, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The Hyundai Creta is getting facelift next year with expected launch in February 2024, and soon Tata Curvv will be joining this segment.
