Kia Sonet Facelift mid-variant has leaked and the video shows the full undisguised interior and what changes did Kia made over the outgoing version for the Indian Market.
Kia India is continuously testing the Sonet Facelift for the Indian Market, but a Youtube Channel “The Car Show” spotted the Sonet Facelift and made a whole video on the SUV showcasing the exterior, interior and other notable changes Kia made to the SUV. It’s worth noting that the facelift design will align with the recently updated Kia Seltos and other global Kia models.
From what we can see in the video, it’s very evident that the Sonet facelift will introduce fresh 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels design. Additionally, the compact SUV showcases revamped LED headlights and taillights, resembling the ones found on the new Seltos model. It’s anticipated that Kia will include updates to the grille and introduce new bumper designs as well.
Inside the cabin, the Sonet facelift maintains the compact screen to display climate control information, but it receives a fresh design tweak. The previous two-row button layout has been replaced with a single row featuring a set of toggles. Notably, the Sonet facelift now features a new digital instrument cluster, similar to what’s found in the Venue facelift. Furthermore, Kia has introduced a new brown upholstery option, and the rear seat is now equipped with an armrest, marking its return to the model’s interior features.
This particular variant we see in the video comes with 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, single-pane sunroof, LED headlights, LED Projector Fog Lamps, Front Parking Sensors, Shark Fin Antenna, Roof Rails, and so much more. The rear of the SUV is camouflaged so we can’t confirm if this variant gets rear wiper and washer. Also, it looks like ventilated seats might be available from this variant, so this is something to look for in the SUV when it launches.
Other than that, the Sonet Facelift is likely to continue offering the same powertrains – 1.2 L 4 Cylinder NA Petrol that produces 81.86 BHP and 115 NM of torque paired to 5 Speed Manual Gearbox, 1.0 L 3 Cylinder Turbo Petrol producing 118.36 BHP and 170 NM of torque mated to 6 Speed IMT and 7 Speed DCT Gearbox, and the 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Diesel Engine producing 98.69 BHP and 240 NM for the entry-level to mid variants, and 113.43 BHP and 250 NM of torque for above mid variants, mated to 6 Speed IMT and Automatic Gearbox.
Kia India is expected to launch the Sonet Facelift by late 2023 to early 2024 and rival the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon Facelift, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300, and Maruti Fronx.
