The first sighting of Kia’s EV9 test mule in India has stirred up excitement, revealing that the vehicle will retain the same design as its international counterparts without any alterations. Notably, the spied version belonged to the GT-line specification. With a length exceeding 5 meters, the EV9 is constructed on Kia’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), promising robust performance and spacious interiors.

According to Kia, the EV9 can travel up to 541 KMs on a single charge and is available in two variants. The Standard trim globally features a 76.1 kWh battery pack with a single rear-wheel-drive motor generating 214.5 BHP and 350 NM of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 KMPH in 8.2 seconds with a top speed of 185 KMPH. The long-range trim offers a 99.8 kWh battery pack with two drive-type options: rear-wheel-drive with a single motor producing 201 BHP and 350 NM torque, achieving 0 to 100 KMPH in 9.4 seconds, or all-wheel-drive with a dual-motor setup delivering 380 BHP and 600 NM of torque, reaching 0 to 100 KMPH in 5.3 seconds with a top speed of 200 KMPH.In terms of features, the luxurious EV9 boasts Level 3 ADAS with over 20 features, Thin-lens LED Projection Headlamps, Remote Smart Parking Assist 2, Digital Center Mirror, Digital Side Mirrors, a 14-speaker Meridian Premium Sound System, Drawer-style Expanding Console, Dual Sunroofs, Hidden-type touch buttons for HVAC controls, Heads-up Display (HUD), 2nd Row Swivel Seats (exclusive to the 6-seater version), 3-zone Climate Control, Dual 12.3-inch Displays for Infotainment and Digital Instrument Cluster, Power Tailgate, Heated and Ventilated Seats for the 1st and 2nd rows, 360 Surround View Camera, and more.While Kia is expected to showcase the EV9 at the BME 2024 on February 1st alongside the New Carnival, the official launch of the EV9 is anticipated towards the end of the year, with an expected starting price of Rs. 85 lakh.
