Maruti is working on the next-gen Swift which is expected to launch in the coming months, but importantly, Maruti is also working on the next generation update for the Maruti Dzire set to launch in this year. The Dzire is basically a sedan version of the hatchback Swift having all its features, engine options, looks, and whatnot. In this article, we’ve listed 5 things about the upcoming next-gen Dzire that you should definitely know!
The new Dzire will look very similar to the upcoming new Swift like new x-pattern round grille with chrome around, new headlamps unit with L-Shaped LED DRLs. Moving to the side, it’ll get new alloy wheel design for the 16-inch wheels, and HYBRID badging on the fender, and the rear profile gets dual-tone bumper, revised LED Taillamps with C-Shaped LED Element for a sporty sedan look.
The new Dzire interiors will look almost same as the Brezza, Baleno, Fronx, etc. However, the Dzire will features a new free-standing 9-inch infotainment system, new panel for the climate control, and the 4-spoke flat-bottom Steering Wheel. It continues to get Fabric Seat Upholstery, USB-C and USB-A Port below the climate control for charging, and 60:40 split for the rear seats.
At the Tokyo Motor Show, the upcoming new Swift was equipped with a new 1.2 L 3 Cylinder Naturally-Aspirated Petrol Engine Z-Series Engine with a 12V Battery enabling Mild-Hybrid with the engine mated to an CVT Gearbox with choice of 2-Wheel-Drive (2WD), or All-Wheel-Drive (AWD). It’s likely the Maruti will carried forward this engine to the new Dzire.
When it comes to Features, the upcoming next-gen Dzire is equipped with 9-inch Infotainment System with Wireless Apple Carplay / Android Auto, Cruise Control, Automatic Climate Control, Wireless Charging Pad, LED headlamps, and more. In Safety, it’ll have 360 Surround View Camera, Rear Parking Sensors, ABS with EBD, Hill Assist, and so much more. It remains to be seen if Maruti plans to offer the Dzire ADAS or not given the Swift test mule was seen with ADAS panel.
The current Maruti Dzire is priced at Rs. 6.52 – Rs. 9.39 Lakh, and we expect it to start from Rs. 7 Lakh. The new Dzire upon its launch will compete with Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor, and Honda Amaze. It may also end up challenging the Honda City, and its own Maruti Ciaz given the amount of features it’s going to get.
