Today, we’re going to do a comparison of the KTM RC 390 against the TVS Apache RR 310 to see which bike is worth spending the money!
The KTM RC 390 has a big LED headlamp at the top center with the indicators right next to the windscreen and 17-inch alloy wheels as well. Moving to the side, it has air vents, cuts and creases for the sporty look and the KTM graphic all over the bike with the pillion seat at the same height as that of the windscreen and has LED taillamps and indicators. The RC 390 rides on Upside-Down Fork Suspension at the front and adjustable monoshock suspension at the rear. It has digital instrument cluster with bluetooth connectivity as well.
TVS Apache RR 310 has an split LED headlamps with LED indicators. The RR 310 rides on inverted cartridge telescopic suspension at the front and Two Arm Aluminium Die-Cast Swingarm, Mono Tube, Floating Piston Gas Assisted Shock Absorber at the rear with 17-inch alloy wheels. Moving to the side, it has little cuts and creases to give that aggressive sporty look and at the rear it has LED taillamps as well. The RR 310 has an digital instrument cluster with bluetooth connectivity.

As you can see at the Dimensions table, the RC 390 has a length of 2145mm which 144mm more than the Apache RR 310 length of 2001mm. The RC 390 has a length of 760mm which is 26mm less wide than the RR 310 width of 786mm. The RC 390 has a height of 830mm which is 305mm shorter than the 1135mm height of TVS Apache RR 310. The RC 390 has a saddle height of 835mm while the RR 310 has a saddle height of 810mm with 25mm difference.
The RC 390 has a wheelbase of 1340mm which is 25mm shorter than the RR 310 wheelbase of 1365mm. The Ground clearance of RR 310 is 180mm which is 33mm more than the RC 390 ground clearance of 153mm. The RC 390 has a fuel tank of 13.7 litres while the RR 310 has a fuel tank of 11 litres. Lastly, the kerb weight of the RC 390 is 172 kg which is 2 kg lighter than the RR 310 174 kg kerb weight.

The KTM RC 390 on the other hand, is powered by 373.27cc Single Cylinder, Liquid Cooled, DOHC, FI Engine which produces 42.31 bhp and 37 Nm of torque that has 6-speed Manual and gives 25.89 km/l fuel efficiency in City and 31.22 km/l fuel efficiency on Highway. It can go from 0 – 100kmph in 6.49 seconds at a top speed 200 kmph.
The TVS Apache RR 310 is powered by 302.2cc SI, 4 stroke, 4 valve, Single cylinder, Liquid cooled, Reverse inclined engine which produces 33.53 bhp and 27.3 Nm mated to a 6-speed Manual Gearbox with a fuel efficiency of 33.1 km/l in City and 34.45 km/l on Highway. It can go from 0 – 100 kmph in 7.17 seconds at a top speed of 160 kmph which is 1.32 seconds slower than the RC 390.

As you can see at the features table, the RC 390 misses out on one feature and that is ride modes which the RR 310 has 4 on offer – Track, Rain, Sports, and Urban.

KTM RC 390 has two variants – Standard which is priced at Rs. 3.62 lakh and Rs. 3.70 lakh for GP Edition. The TVS Apache RR 310 is priced at Rs. 3.18 lakh as it’s got only one variant and it is Rs. 44,000 cheaper than the KTM RC 390.
In the end, the decision to buy which bike depends totally on you, however, we recommend you the KTM RC 390 because of the superb performance it on offer and yes it doesn’t have ride modes which I don’t think is going to affect, but the TVS Apache RR 310 is not a bad choice either so you can buy any one of them.
