Mahindra Marazzo is designed in collaboration with the Mahindra design studio and Pininfirina.The exterior of the MPV sports a streamlined design with certain design clues from shark.The Front grille is aggressive which shares similarity with shark’s teeth.Also shark finn antenna and and shark tail like tail lamp give Marazzo a very stylish look.It also features twin chamber projector headlamps with DRLs around the fog lamps.Marazzo also gets large 17-inch super sports machined alloys.
On the other hand is the Toyota’s Innova Crysta.Innova Crysta comes with a elegant 3D design trapezoidal front grille.Automatic LED Projector headlamps with auto levelling, follow-me-home and LED clearance lamps adds to the innovative appearance.Innova Crysta gets 16-inch sophisticated alloys.Moving to the rear,it sports uniquely designed L-shaped Inverted rear lights with aero stabilising fins.Overall,the MPV looks muscular and premium.
Mahindra Marazzo features grey and beige dual tone interiors with pearl white,piano black and chrome finishes for that premium looks.Marazzo gets premium leather upholstery in it’s top-spec trim.Marazzo fits a roof-mounted rear A/C setup in longitudinal layout with industry 1st surround cool technology that ensures rapid cooling of the cabin within seconds.Marazzo is excellent in terms of practicality offering small storage spaces for each passenger and a large storage area under the aircraft inspired brake lever.Steering wheel now looks more premium and similar to the one in Hyundai cars.Space available inside the cabin is of no match.Even in the 3rd row,a 6-foot tall person can sit comfortably.
Innova Crysta which is 4.7 metre in length,width of 1830 mm and is 1795 mm tall,comes with luxurious hazel brown leather upholstery with wooden finish on interior panel.One touch tumble second row seats make easy access to the 3rd row which Marazzo also offers.Rear A/C vent of Innova Crysta gets a digital display.Crysta offers good amount of comfort and space.
Marazzo gets only one engine and that is 1.5-litre D15 diesel engine making 120 bhp of power and 300 nm of peak torque.This motor is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.No automatic unit is on offer.New petrol unit as well as diesel automatic will make way to Marazzo in April 2019.
On the other hand,Toyota Innova Crysta is available with three engine options – two diesel units and one petrol.The Petrol one is 2.7-litre VVT-i engine churning out 166 ps power and 245 nm torque.This engine gets a 5-speed manual and automatic gearbox.While the V variant is available with 5-speed manual gearbox,Z is available with 6-speed AT while base G variant is offered with both 5-speed manual and automatic gearbox.The second engine is the 2.4-litre diesel engine with figures of 150 ps and 343 nm.This engine is also offered across the range like the 2.7-litre petrol one but only with 5-speed manual transmission.Last engine is the most powerful 2.8-litre 16 valve diesel engine making 174 ps of power and massive 360 nm torque.This engine is not on offer in the G variant.It os offered in V and Z variant with only 6-speed automatic transmission.
Standard safety features of Marazzo includes Dual Airbags (Driver & Co-driver) ,Passenger Airbag Off Switch,ABS with Electronic Brake Distribution(EBD),Disc Brakes on All Wheels,ISOFIX Child Seat Mount ,Child Safety Lock on Rear Doors,Impact & Speed Sensing Auto Door Lock,Speed Sensing Auto Door Lock,Engine Immobilizer,Driver Seatbelt Reminder,Adjustable Head Restraint,Side Impact Beams,Door Ajar Warning,Crumple Zones for Crash Protection and Overspeed Warning (acoustic for 3 secs) @ 80KM/HR.
While the M8 variant of Marazzo gets safety features like follow me home headlamps,Front & Rear Fog Lamps,Emergency Call,Reverse Parking sensors and Rear Camera with adaptive guidelines.
Safety features which are offered across the range of Innova Crysta are Door Ajar Warning,Clutch Start Display,Child Restraint System,Driver, Front Passenger & Driver Knee Airbags,ABS with EBD and BA,Seat Belt Warning,Clearance and Back Sonar,Rear Defogger,Fuel Level, Light Remind, Key Remind Warning,Power Door Locks,Jam protection on driver window and Immobiliser.
Top-spec trim of Innova Crysta gets loaded with Safety features like Hill start assist,Vehicle Stability control,7 Airbags,Front fog lamps,reverse camera and Follow me home projector headlamps.
Premium features available in M8 trim of Marazzo include 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with android auto,Voice Recognition,Personal Reminder,multi-information display with TFT screen,1st in segment 2nd row sunshade,one touch tumble down 2nd and 3rd row seats,entry assist lamps,Steering Mounted Cruise Audio, Phone & Cluster Controls,8-way adjustable driver seat,centre console with tambour door.

Both these premium MPVs offer attractive features.While Marazzo undercut Innova Crysta in terms of pricing,it is the latter vehicle which takes the lead when it comes choice of engines.While Marazzo has slightly more space but Innova Crysta comes with petrol and diesel engines along with option of both manual and automatic transmission.
Now our verdict is that if you want to buy a diesel or petrol automatic MPV and you don’t have a price constraint ,you can buy Crysta while if you have a budget of around 12-13 lakhs with good features and space,you can go for Marazzo.
