The vehicle’s structure also offered adequate protection for the lower legs of the driver and passenger, with no significant risks from dashboard structures identified.
In the side movable deformable barrier test where it secured full 16 points, the Thar Roxx performed exceptionally well, receiving a perfect score with good protection for the head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis. Additionally, the side pole impact test demonstrated that the vehicle maintained good protection for the head and upper body, showcasing the structural integrity and safety prioritization in its design.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx excelled in the Child Occupant Protection assessment, scoring 45.00 out of 49 points. The dynamic test using child restraint systems (CRS) showed remarkable performance. The child seat for an 18-month-old, equipped with a Britax Romer Dualfix Pro M and installed rearward-facing using ISOFIX/leg support, provided comprehensive protection, scoring 8.00 out of 8.00. Similarly, the 3-year-old child seat configuration mirrored this performance, ensuring maximum safety in frontal and side impacts.
The vehicle includes ISOFIX anchor points and i-Size compatibility as standard in the second row outboard seating positions, facilitating the secure installation of CRS. The CRS installation assessment confirmed the ease of use and reliable fitment for various seats, contributing to the Thar Roxx’s strong showing in child safety metrics.
Despite these positive results, the front passenger seat does not have ISOFIX, i-Size, or integrated CRS capabilities. However, the Thar Roxx met stringent requirements in child protection, securing a five-star safety rating for its class.
