Mahindra XUV300 Electric Unveil at Auto Expo 2020, Launch Postponed to 2021

Mahindra and Mahindra have already a couple of electric cars in their lineup.In the coming years, they are going to expand their electric vehicles range.We already told you that eKUV100 have been confirmed for the India launch between the time period of April and June 2020.

Mahindra launched its feature loaded and premium compact SUV, XUV300 last year in February and the SUV is maintaining a good position in the market as well.As per the reports, XUV300 electric was expected to be launched in the country in the second half of this year only but now the launch has been adjourned to the later half of next year.

XUV300 electric will be offered in two variant options – Standard and Extented Range, which means that it will be available in two range options.Standard variant will deliver around 250 km of range while the Extended Range variant will have a total of 400 km on a full charge.The battery offered in Mahindra XUV300 EV will be developed by Mahindra Electric and LG Chem.The compact SUV will use 40kWh high density lithium ion battery pack with around 128 BHP of power.It will support both AC and DC fast charging supports.

As compared to the IC powered variant, electric XUV300 is likely to carry certain changes in front design.Although the interior and exterior will slightly remain untouched, front grille, wheels as well as bumper are likely to be redesigned for XUV300 EV.

Mahindra XUV300 will be direct rival to soon to be launched in India, Nexon electric which will come with around 300 km range in the next few days only.The expected ex showroom price of Tata Nexon electric will be Rs. 15 Lakhs to Rs. 17 Lakhs.While the electric SUV by Mahindra will have advantage over Nexon as it will have slightly better range than the latter but will translate into higher price tag as well.

The conventionally powered XUV300 is priced between Rs. 8.1 Lakhs and Rs. 12.69 Lakhs (Ex Showroom Price).It is expected to carry a premium price tag over Nexon EV and the top end trims of XUV300 electric may also find rivals with the base trims of MG eZS as well as Hyundai Kona Electric.The expected price of Mahindra XUV300 EV is Rs. 18 Lakhs to Rs. 22 Lakhs (Ex Showroom).

Along with XUV300 electric, Mahindra will also showcase a number of other new cars at Auto expo 2020 including New Thar, KUV100 Electric, TUV300 Facelift and the BS6 versions the current Mahindra lineup.
