Mahindra has their hands full with SUVs testings with the first one, XUV300 Facelift launching in the coming weeks. However, people are anticipating the launch of the Mahindra’s XUV700-based EV, XUV.e8 which is set to come with some big things that no one is seeing coming.
A spy shot of the Mahindra XUV.e8 from within factory premises, seemingly in close-to-production form, has surfaced, hinting at a late 2024 debut. Though still in development, this uncamouflaged sighting offers a glimpse of the XUV.e8’s body panels. The bonnet and doors bear resemblance to the XUV700, featuring a familiar kink near the C-pillar and a roofline with a similar contour, aligning with Mahindra’s earlier design patent.

What sets this EV apart is its all-new fascia, highlighted by a full-width LED light bar extending across the nose and vertically integrating into the bumper. As expected in EVs, the grille is sealed off entirely, with triangular headlamp housings positioned in the bumper. While the rear remains obscured in this sighting, it’s likely to mirror the design of the regular XUV700, based on the concept showcased earlier.Previous interior spy shots have revealed a layout with three horizontally oriented screens: one serving as the digital driver’s display, the second for infotainment, and the third for passenger information. Additionally, the XUV.e8 will feature a touch-based climate control panel and a flat-bottomed, two-spoke steering wheel, akin to recent Tata SUVs.To maintain competitive pricing, the XUV.e8 is expected to share certain components with the regular XUV700, including switchgear, door panels, and seats. Despite its shared body with the XUV700, the XUV.e8 will boast unique underpinnings, built on Mahindra’s dedicated electric platform, INGLO. Mahindra has confirmed the inclusion of an all-wheel-drive system and battery pack options up to 80 kWh, offering power outputs ranging from 230 hp to over 350 hp.The XUV.e8 marks Mahindra’s initial foray into production EVs, slated to hit the launch by December 2024 at an expected price of Rs. 35 Lakh.
